Actually a lot of the new stuff was better than some of the old stuff. Very sad to see him go. He was one of my favorite drummers.

The good news (if you can find any in this tragedy) is that Rock bands can usually recover pretty well when they lose a drummer. The band is usually only affected when they lose their singer.

One of the worst parts about it though was the fact he was also a very good song writer.

A7X is my favorite band and I have cried a few times over this loss already. This is my John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, etc.
He's irreplacable.
Not only an amazing drummer, but a great writer, pianist, singer, and screamer.
I'll always remember him for his work on A Little Piece Of Heaven. He wrote that whole song...from the lyrics, to the drums, to even the guitar, bass, and orchestra parts. The song turned out to be a masterpiece:
It's heartbreaking to know he hadn't recorded his parts for the new record yet. They always let him lay down his tracks last because he always had some great ideas pop at random times.
The whole band was very close and you know they're hurting. Especially Shadows and Gates since they were best friends since the 6th grade.
If I had to guess, A7X is done.
RIP, Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan.

The Rev was the backbone of this band. Everyone thinks the band feeds of Gates' guitar but the band is fueled 100% behind The Rev on the drums. If they can recover from this, I'll be highly surprised. What Bonham was to Zeppelin is what The Rev was to A7X. If they find another drummer, he certainly won't be as involved as The Rev was. The rock world lost a legit musician.SnotBubbles wrote: The good news (if you can find any in this tragedy) is that Rock bands can usually recover pretty well when they lose a drummer. People aren't bull shitting when they say Sullivan was one of the best drummers in rock right now. I'd probably put him right behind Vinny Paul, Joey Jordison, and the dude from Slayer.

That sucks. I hope the band stays together though it will be different his backup vocals were great as well as his drumming.

For me this was easily the most upsetting celebrity death of the year.

I'm a member of the A7X fan organization and a couple other A7X news and promotion sites so I will update you all when I hear anything new from the band or anything about the band's future. Being a part of these, I usually get a jump on all news A7X.

Shadows talks about Jimmy and says they are planning, in time, to put out the next record.

Charliehustle, for what's it worth, based not only on this thread but previous ones as well -- you most certainly have the best taste in music of all the Huddlers.
