Phil himself is probably the most shocked his opinions on anything have warranted this much media attention across the country. He is actually duck hunting as we speak, from Nov to Jan in LA that's what rednecks do. I'm sure he's laughing his ass off somewhere in a duck blind. The ones who probably aren't laughing are those hot bitches that married the 3 brothers and are worried the gravy train might be running out of gravy right about now.

I have made many references in the past that I think hot Asian women are really, really hot - some people responded negatively, perhaps in jest, perhaps not. That doesn't make them racists if they don't think Asian women are attractive. There is nothing wrong with what he said.

I doubt they are concerned. Duck Dynasty has raked in, at least, $3M a year from the show, $5M+ in related merchandise sales...and, oh, about $20M annual profits. They have been set for life, and their kids, for a few years now.

I'm actually surprised a family with that kind of wealth would want cameras in their lives at this point. But I think they honestly felt they were "evangelizing" and setting a good example of family values. So you take that away....

But, like I said...as long as it's fun, there are a lot of things they might tolerate to make money to support causes near and dear.

Upon reflection, I've gone from the idea that maybe this was done as a publicity stunt to reinforce ratings to being quite sure of it.

I don't know. I'm sure everyone knew what was going to happen when Phil interviewed with GQ. But somehow I don't think the Robertsons viewed it as a publicity stunt but a very public pulpit. Phil didn't get to evangelize like he may have wanted on the show, but it still provided him with the forum and opportunity.

The show was already hugely successful. Phil doesn't seem the type to engage in a publicity stunt.

The only people offended by his words are those who wouldn't watch in a million years but will now do so out of curiosity. Additionally, these same people are providing millions of dollars worth of advertising to reclaim the show's lapsed customers. Timing-wise it coincides with the airing of the Baba Walters show where he blew her off. This is either part of a brilliant business plan or they're lottery-level lucky.

I doubt it highly.

Outside of MNF I think it was the highest rated show on Cable. One episode alone got 11.8 million viewers.

Aside from that, there is no way A&E wanted to knowingly and willingly invite the outrage brigade into their lives by giving Phil the green light to say the things he did.

If an aparatus as big as the Republican Party hasn't found a way to fend off the militant homosexual coalition, I doubt A&E was going to be able to. Know one in their right mind invites that into their lives.

I think Walking Dead has higher ratings. But anyway, this is really a waste of time and energy.

If he was an Atheist who said that being Gay is unnatural and no different than bestiality, he would be fired also. Christianity is not under attack. Being an idiot however is under attack.

If it was, it worked. My Facebook page is going nuts with support of whatever this is - what do they sell again? Duck whistles, duck luring stuff...etc. What do these people do?

The left wing blogs are mobilizing right now as we speak to try and get a similar attack against Duck Dynasty sponsors that they have been so effective with against Limbaugh's. All the usual suspects that Limbaugh offends are outraged by Phil Robertston now, so it is just a matter of getting the band back together.

The family said they can't imagine continuing without Phil and are in talks with A&E about the show's future.

By the end of 2014 if you want to see the Robertson family on TV its gonna be back to their old Duck Commander show on Outdoor

It's still a mega-hit. However this season marks the first time that the last episodes of the season drew less viewers than the first episodes of the season, and by a significant amount. Not cause for alarm, but cause for concern.
