..If Braxton does go down for the season (God forbid), does he have another year left of eligibility due to medical?

If Barrett is starting, that's not good, and 'not good' to me =6-8 wins
I know OSU tends to reload, but aren't they also replacing a starting tailback and 4 OL? Braxton could compensate for that alot, maybe the backup won't. Maybe it's a non-issue. I don't know, just throwing that out there.

I don't think anyone can honestly say losing Miller isn't a big deal.

It's a huge deal. And our defense isn't good. We are looking at 8-9 wins if braxton is out.

I think the defense is going to be vastly improved, but regardless.....with no Miller, we're fucked.

He could get a medical reshirt yes. But I don't know that he'd want to.

Losing miller is massive. Everyone knows it. But the playmakers around the qb are better than they've been in a long time. So they're lucky they have had 2 guys taking all the first team reps for the last 6 months.

No proven running backs. Hyde was a horse, now who leads that crew?

He has played 3 seasons, the first of which was his true freshman year. He would not need a medical redshirt as this could be a 'regular' redshirt season.

I don't really see that happening. Let's say Barrett plays all year, Miller comes back next year....they hand him the starting job again? I dunno, weird situation.

True. But I'd assume theyd just apply for the medical reshirt. Either way yea he can get a redshirt of either kind.

Think rb is the least of their worries. Oline is probably the biggest worry.

OSU has "media availability" this morning, whatever that means. So I'm assuming some type of announcement is coming soon?

Does Miller want to play in the NFL? If so, has he shown enough to have a chance at being drafted? If the answer is no, he really has no choice but to come back.

I don't think he has much of a future in the NFL regardless of how this pans out.

Agreed. He is what he is...a very good college QB who's game will not translate into the NFL.

Yeah. First, you have the regular question marks that come up with any QB who is known more for their legs and playmaking ability than their actual passing. And when you add the non-stop litany of injuries, minor and major, he's suffered over the past few years, I'd say it's hard to really imagine him being considered a great commodity in the NFL.

I wasn't trying to create this debate. I don't disagree. But what does Braxton want to do? If you are him, why would you not at least try?

I imagine he WANTS to play in the NFL. I would say most CFB players do even if they have a great degree all lined up and ready to go. Hell, even the very intelligent Aaron Craft, who doesnt 'need' pro basketball gave it a go and ended up getting picked up by a NBA team.

I imagine after this is all said and done he will test the waters to see what interest there is

I think if Braxton is out for the year there is almost no chance he returns. He gets dinged up quite a bit, why would he want to play another year "for free" and risk more injury when he could try to get paid? I know he'd have an uphill climb on making a roster, but if he stays another year and gets another injury then he's even less likely to make the NFL IMO. If he's out for the year I'd say his Ohio State career is over.
