Book is out in paperback and shouldnt be that expensive, go pick it up.

I dont think you will be disappointed at all reading it after seeing the movie. It goes so much more in depth on alot of things that it would still be enjoyable.

Murph the protecter is pretty good..a documentary on Michael Murphy. Starts slow, but really picks up. It is only a few bucks on amazon.

Relying on visual and gore, true, but man it was an all out battle to the death for these guys. It was bloody and nasty and nothing diff than what SPR or Band of Brothers did..(or The Pacific which I finally got this Christmas).

I wiill be 100% honest....I expected this movie to let me down. I had built it up so much in my mind and figured it would pretty much disappoint me. I remember the week this all happened and had been engrossed in the story and figured there was no way I would be happy with how it turned out....but I still think it was a very good depiction.

I enjoyed Lone Survivor. I did go out and buy the book after. I'm only a couple chapters in but it's definitely worth the read.

I started the book yesterday. I saw the movie when it first came out.

Im confused as to how there is too much gore in a movie where they are in a shoot out to the death...

I mean, you realize they didn't really play much of anything up, right? At least from what I've read. They added a scene at the end, but the initial firefight is pretty much accurate.

They also left left out how long he crawled on his broken leg after the firefight.

Same thing was said in Act of Valor about the gore of headshots.

Cannot get more gruesome than Saving Private Ryan, greatest opening scene ever, and dont think people had issues wih that

WIth the movie I have two issues.....
1. Not sure whey they did it, but they put on the sceen "3 days earlier" when it reality it was I think 6 days. Doesnt change anything but just dont know why they changed it.
2. The last battle/firefight. True, it did not happen like it is shown in the movie, and it wasnt a saved at the last moment type of thing, but it did bring the movie to a high on the rescue. A little bit more exciting than the Rangers finding him when he was being moved from spot to spot. Personally I wouldla liked to them have shown them out searching for him, even if it was just briefly.
But with that last battle...after they did show up they DID blow the fuck out of the supposed and reported locations of the bad guys who were around the village so the US forces could land and medevac him safely. SO..even tho not a battle they did bomb the shit out em.


One thing I didnt notice the first couple of times I saw it but at the end when they showed those involved, one guy was left out and I presumably it was of the families request.
A Nightstalker who piloted the Chinook, Major Reich, was a very good pitcher. Pitched for the US in the pan am games and in the orioles system.

Finally saw Frozen, great movie and pretty much made for the theater. 9/10. Between Frozen and Tangled the Disney studio has out performed Pixar, which has been incredibly meaty-oaker for the last few years.

I see your point to a large extent - and agree with you, but to me it took me out of the movie. No one in an office environment drops the F that much. It isn't tolerated. It seemed like every 4 sentences it was a Tarantino movie. Not that I don't enjoy Tarantino but his world is fantasy. I'm not a prude, and have dropped the F before (and the C once), but no place where I ever worked was it that prevalent. After about the third drop you get a discussion at the home office.

Very true. I dont say it often and rarely, if ever, in front of someone other than a friend and never around the family or strangers.

I will say this though....their "office" environment is quite a bit different than ours!

Gump is a great movie.
I would like to see that bracket though and see where, or if, Shawshank was on it.
Part of what I think the draw of the movie is the time sequences it spans. Many people can relate to any of the points in time, or if they are too young they still know about the historical events and it helps them to relate a bit

+1, hasn't held up over time. It is a cheesy feel-good movie. If people like it, fine. But it has no business being discussed in the same conversation with all-time classics.

Ok I finally watched Fast 6...

My best friends loves these movies and always drag us to the theater to see them. I was somehow busy and got to miss the midnight showing this time.

i have to say the director knows his audience. He knows they don't care to much about plot or that it's believable. The car shades and action is pretty damn good and literally non stop. From the first 5 minutes until the final 5 minutes it is pretty much non stop action. I will give it a 7.5/10 based on being good at what it is.

Just watched Nebraska. I thought it was very good. Very simple, but well done.

Watched Non-Stop. Typical Liam Neeson kick ass movie but it was enjoyable. 7/10
