So a friend of mine just posted this: Good afternoon all. I am in need of some serious assistance. My daughter's mother is filing a request to move my daughter out of state. She refuses to compromise with letting me have my daughter 6 months out of the year with her relocation. Along with her request, she has hired an attorney. I do not want to lose my daughter. She is just shy of 2 years of age, and I have tried to be in her life as much as possible living 2 hours away from her. Her mother many times makes it extremely difficult for me and my family to see my daughter, and she is slowly trying to phase me out of my daughter's life. This Thanksgiving we were originally going to have my daughter over, but that won't be the case anymore due to her changing her mind. I need to at least put up a fight at court, and this will definitely be a long and difficult fight. If any of you can find it in your heart to donate $10, $15, $20, or anything you would like to assist me with the legal fees that will pile up for this, I can only say that I would be forever grateful you and will always pray that God protect you and bless your generous hearts. I went into PayPal to facilitate the donations with a credit card or your own PayPal account. Thank you for your time. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
I just think it's pretty lame to beg for money on facebook for an attorney. This is also the same guy who is getting married in the Florida Keys in a month and asked for donations for his honeymoon. Someone actually asked him if this is legit.

Asking for money on Facebook is bizarre and providing a paypal link for easy payment is just asinine, but I do feel bad for the guy if the story is true. Marriage and having kids with a person you've only known for a brief period of your life who one day might just end up murdering you if you get in their way sounds great.

If so, that's f'd up.

Depends on if she has full custody or not.

Just about everyone in life is battling issues that they wouldn't mind some financial assistance. But going to a public forum to ask for it is weird and awkward. Not only that, but why would you want to post your personal problems for anyone and everyone to see?

Everything I've seen on Cops says that the courts must OK any move over X amount of miles when there is joint custody.

I certainly wouldn't disagree about sharing positive news (ex: I'm working out!, I got a B+ on a basic algebra exam!, I had a baby and here's 194 pictures of him/her!); but I guess I'll never understand why people share sensitive information like this so publicly.hasbeen;1544223 wrote:Because people are attention whores.

Always seems like these frauds who ask for money add a line something about "God bless and praying for you" to the script.DeyDurkie5;1544199 wrote:He might as well go stand outside and shout give me money. That's basically what he is doing on FBOOK.
Must be mostly ignorant religious people who fall for these scams.

In the old days, you'd set-up a fake charity. Now you just post some BS on facebook and watch the money roll in.

                                "... 2 years of age."
Does this person talk like that? Most people I know would just say "two years old." It could be someone who has learned English as a second language or who is trying to force a colloquialism.
Either way, I can't possibly blame a person for asking them if it was serious.
