Has the phrase Catholics vs. Convicts ever been more appropriate than it will be next weekend at Fawcett? Both teams struggled through the regular season but were able to win their regions. These teams have met multiple times in the playoffs. The last time they met, Big Red had the gave in hand until one of their kids punched an official and allowed Mooney to extend what would be the game winning drive. The teams and fan bases also are at opposite ends of the moral spectrum. Big Red fans feel that any behavior is acceptable as long as the team wins. Mooney's mission statement states "Cardinal Mooney High School, a Roman Catholic school of the Diocese of Youngstown, Ohio, is committed to providing a quality education in the supportive atmosphere of the Mooney Family. Our embrace of Gospel values, and our tradition of sanctity, scholarship, and discipline, enable our students to achieve personal excellence. We strive to develop leaders dedicated to social justice and service in the world community." The contrasts in beliefs could not be any more different.

As a Massillon fan, I usually root for fellow ACC members. Big Red is our little brother, so I usually want to see them do well. However, it is hard to support the program that they have run the last few years.

Followed by Thinthick coming on here to let us know there are no real problems with Steuby and the real issue is how those darn private schools recruit, so his town's perfect angels have no chance.

I think for many of these "oh woe is me" public school wonks, the last thing they really want is change. With the current system, they can brag when they win, and have their excuses made up well in advance.

Careful Al, all communities have those types of fans.

And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’ I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:9-14

I see you talk all kinds of anti catholic stuff in the fire on another thread. Are you bipolar or something?
