and shoots a 9 year old in the face, his girlfriend at a dentist office, and a SWAT officer in a WalMart parking lot before getting turned into swiss cheeese by the Columbus PD. I know that the dude was a former Golden Gloves boxer, and has a history of brawling with other guys, but didn't know that he had this in him. Always treated me well, although we were only casual acquaintances. WTF???

Terrible story. I wonder if CTE will be looked into. As a Boxer he had been hit plenty of times and maybe it was a factor...maybe he was just crazy. Either way he got what he deserved.

This happened down the street from me.
Don't worry everyone, I am fine.
P.S. That Wal-Mart over there fucking sucks. I know all Wal-Mart's suck, but that one is especially bad.

It's actually a unique place. It's across the street from Easton which is fairly uppity, but that Wal-Mart is the exact opposite. The time or two I went it was super sketchy.

Actually I do know what you're talking about. We stopped at that Wal Mart when we stayed at Easton this summer. That place was a shithole.dlazz;1541400 wrote:Close.

The kid isn't going to make it - they're prepping him for organ donation according to a news report a few minutes ago.
You guys are right about that Wal-Mart - there's been several shootings and serious incidents there. In fact, I think one of their security staff members was killed by a shoplifter within the last year or so
. It seems to be the store itself that draws in the trouble - the "film-at-11" events seem to way off the scale for that part of town, and even for the really rotten parts of Columbus. It's only Wal-Mart easily accessible from Linden and the Cleveland Avenue Ghetto Corridor (especially if you're riding COTA - you don't have to change buses). It's convenient if you're in the area for other reasons, but the reputation and scary assortment of hood rats, methheads, and urban hilljacks is enough to keep me out of there.

I think you're right. As long as they all stay on that side of the outerbelt I'm content with it.Cat Food Flambe';1541427 wrote:The kid isn't going to make it - they're prepping him for organ donation.
You guys are right about that Wal-Mart - there's been several shootings and serious incidents at that location - in fact, I think member of their security staff was killed there a couple years ago. It seems to be the store itself that pulls in the trouble - what happens at the store itself is all out of whack even for northeast Columbus. My guess, from a couple of trips there in the past, is that it's only Wal-Mart easily accessible from Linden and the Cleveland Avenue Ghetto Corridor - it looks as if all the hood rats, meth-heads, and urban hilljacks from the area hang out there.
I avoid the Easton area at all costs anyway because traffic is almost always a nightmare. I've lived in Gahanna for about a year and a half and have been at Easton less than five times just because of traffic.
