The banged up Chicago Bears defense suffered another devastating blow leading up to the team's game against the Detroit Lions.

Coach Marc Trestman told reporters on Friday that starting defensive end Shea McClellin is doubtful for the contest after injuring his hamstring in practice.

McClellin is the NFC's reigning Defensive Player of the Week after registering three sacks in the Bears' win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. He was also responsible for the hit that injured Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The Bears defense is already expected to be without star linebacker Lance Briggs, who continues to recover from a fractured shoulder. The team also lost starters Henry Melton (ACL) and D.J. Williams (pectoral) to injuries earlier in the year.

Chicago enters the game against Detroit ranked 26th in total defense and 29th in opponents scoring. The Bears have been particularly weak against the run, allowing Washington and Green Bay to rack up 408 yards on the ground the past two games.

Lions running back Reggie Bush had a season-high 139 yards rushing against the Bears earlier this season.
