The sort of super-huge (56,000 square feet on a 7+ acre property) property you'd expect the stinking rich to have.

I know it's always fun to imagine what you'd do if you had the money of an elite athlete or A-list actor, but I've always found it kind of mindboggling to imagine how I'd live if I was in a house this large. You know: issues like "how would I fill all these fucking rooms?" and "shit, I'm fucking lost again!" would probably come up from time to time.

Probably the closest I've seen to how I'd probably be was a SI article I vaguely remember from a long time ago about Mark Cuban shortly after he'd bought the Mavs. He had one of those mega-mansions, but only parts of it were in use and generally really cluttered, from what I remember.

I could see me living that way if I was living in a place like that. Using about 10% of the place with the rest just gathering cobwebs unless I was throwing a big party, in which case, the rest would be getting wrecked.

If only I hadn't blown all my vCash jinxing the Reds to lose to the Pirates in the playoffs, I'd be able to put in a bid.

It was a great idea at the time, but then I had nothing to jinx the Cards, so I lost no matter what. FML...

56,000 sqft?!? I don't know if I've ever heard of places bigger than 24-30k sqft! Correction - Bill Gates' mansion is 66k sqft.

Personally, it would annoy me to have to have full-time staff/servants. And it's just obscene to even think about a home so large it would have rooms I've never gone in, and probably forgot about.

Plus you know these people probably spend 90%+ of their time in about 4-5 rooms, probably totaling about 3000 sqft.

Actually I thought the inside was pretty cool and well done. And I think you'd have no problem getting people over for a pick-up game on that court!

Although I will say - and I've noticed this on a number of mega-mansions - the outside aesthetics (of the house itself) leave something to be desired. Just very little design creativity, tending to look just cold and plain (almost like a series of warehouses slapped together).

Hey, it's only $29M. It's an auction, so I have no idea if it will go for significantly more or less than that. But $29M seems like a bargain for that place.

LOL, Zillow estimate is $17M!

I could have a trillion dollars. I'd build a sweet ass house. But I would never, ever come close to approaching 56,000 square feet. I with you Heretic, what's the point? It's nothing more than a status symbol. A way for him to swing his dick around. I guess I wouldn't be all that interested in that image. Certainly isn't to say I wouldn't have a kick ass house and a whole bunch of sweet shit.

I'd much rather build on my own private island - location, location, location! Rather than a ginormous mansion, I'd go with 4-5 much more modest homes around the world.

But you can definitely pump-up the square-footage if you include a large gym, a full-size bball court, and indoor pool. Would still be a major chore to get to even 25k sqft.

Yeah, I can't imaging building anything more than probably 5,000 sq ft even if I had an unlimited budget. Like gut, I'd just have a few different houses around the world.

I'd definitely have a few houses. I could see myself going over 5,000. No more than 10,000 though. I could definitely see a nice little 2,500 sq. ft. ranch sitting on about 100 acres...with another 6,000 square feet underground! : thumbup:

Oh yeah, like what's been said. I've have sweet stuff with that money, but nothing ungodly large where I couldn't find any real use to it. Be better to have a bunch of smaller, nice houses in cool places to hang out around the world.

9 bedrooms probably each have their own bathroom. As for the other 6 (according to Zillow) - stupid would be having to walk a quarter mile every time you had to take a leak because you didn't add a few extra bathrooms!

LOL...you wanna lose this argument too? You wanna talk about career earnings? Because that's all this comes down to, right? You think the max-level players in the league right now couldn't afford to build 56,000 square feet if they wanted to? Hell, LeBron built a 36,000 square foot house in Akron when he was 25...
