We bought my daughter a Kindle Fire HD for her birthday. I'm very unimpressed. Would rather my wife use it for reading.

I'm not a fan of the Fire's, but I love my Paperwhite.

Wife has a regular Kindle (maybe 2 years old), and she loves it. The Fire is not bad, but when you go from using an iPad to a Fire, it's dumb. My daughter plays games, watches Netflix, etc. But I just don't like the thing. As long as she uses it, and likes it, then I guess that's fine. This is terrible timing!! I have been wanting a Kindle Fire, but have a shit ton of expenses coming up and really shouldn't buy one. Yarg!
