What are your favorite cough remedies?

I got a nasty cough from my wife a couple days ago and it is driving me nuts. Right now I am trying to avoid the doctor...but if it lasts through the week then I will break down and go. As for now I am up for you opinions.

Rub vicks on the bottom of your feet. Really though...one my g'ma always did was put 2 tablespoons of honey and mix it with a glass of orange juice. One of those ol' home remedies that seem to do the trick.

Zicam & Vitamin C.

Simple Cough Syrup

* 3 tbsp lemon juice
* 1 cup honey
* 1/4 cup warm water

Combine lemon juice and honey in a bowl. Slowly stir in the water. Store in a covered jar in the refrigerator - take 1-2 tbsp as needed for cough.

To soothe a sore throat, add 1 tbsp of mixture to a cup of comfrey root, chamomile or rosemary tea.

There is only one remedy for EVERYTHING. And that is whiskey.

I second the whiskey idea.

I can't remember the last time i didn't have a bottle of Whiskey sitting in the cupboard in reserve, as a remedy for all sorts of maladies.

From what I've heard........ you're lucky that you only caught a cough

I caught a cough from my wife also....Blackberry Brandy helps.

Mix honey, apple cider vinegar and cinnamon in a cup of hot water.

I concur.

That Zicam stuff also works really well, but whiskey = GOAT.
