Obama really doesn't get enough credit for this. He's helped slow the flood of illegals substantially. At least that's how the liberal history books will tell it when they try to spin the Obama admin into anything other than a failure.

We need immigrants though? That's the secret politicians do not tell you, currently all other races have a Fertility Rate of 1.5 per couple which is leading to a decreasing population. That leads to a labor shortage and economic problems, which is why we need these fuckers to enter the labor force and have tons of babies. Hopefully their babies will help pay for the exploding amount of elderly in the nation when they then enter the labor force

All immigrants are not the same. We need a liberal (excuse the word, righties) policy, but we need to know who's here. The last thing we need are Jimmy Carter immigrants.

Those are fair points, but at the risk of upsetting the libs, what we really need are the middle and upper classes to pop-out more kids.

With the way the system is designed, the middle/upper class wait longer to get married (financially stable) and have less kids, for a number of reasons. We've made children a source of income for the poor/lower class, and an added expense burden for others. The incentives are a little backwards.

You get tax breaks for children if you're in the middle class. But yes essentially the US and all of western Europe is having this problem, except their populations are actually declining

I realize that, but the system is still set-up such that the cost of children is regressive to the middle class and above. Can you provide what you want for 3-4 children or more and still save enough for the quality of retirement you want? That's the choice people are making. People are also marrying later, and couples choosing to wait to have children until they are more financially secure.

That's the problem when big govt and deficits start hurting growth - because the wealthy are going to keep the same pie, so when the pie is smaller that's less for everyone else.

The failures of socialism are not non-obvious, nor trivial...still it has its growing contingent of supporters in the US

Socialism preys and feeds on the weak and the self doubters and those that lack confidence. It fosters this by convincing people that others(powerful people, corporations, the 'rich') are responsible for the unsatisfactory in their lives and that people are helpless and need government to assist them . It is a wolf in sheep's clothing that continues to fool people into thinking that this government is benign and can do better than what people can do for themselves. When the illusion of such 'goodness' is exposed, it fails spectactularly.

Yeah but some is forced in that part of the world as well. They're problem is space though
