Craft isn't even an issue with this team.

That's correct, but he's the most recognizable and polarizing player, so he's going to get the grief...it comes with the territory.

...and idgaf what anybody says, I'm glad he's a Buckeye ;)

I do. Despite my pure hatred for Michigan, I was on the Burke side of that argument.

Craft is the most overrated college basketball player that I've ever seen.

3 people say they'd take Craft over Burke translates to the entire OSU fanbase.

It was more than 3 people...and just the fact that he is being compared to the Trey Burke's and the Andrew Wiggin's of the worlds should tell you how overrated he is.

While the box scores may not recognize that overall impact, opposing coaches certainly do. CBSSports.com polled 100 coaches across the college basketball landscape before the season started and asked them which player they would add to their current roster if they could only add just one.
Craft received the third-most votes, behind only Indiana's Cody Zeller and UCLA's Shabazz Muhammad. The fact that Craft was that coveted by other coaches even though he isn’t much of an offensive force truly underscores just how much he can change a game without the ball in his hands.

That says more to me than some punks opinions on here.

I don't know that you can call Craft overrated. Craft is what he is and what he has always been. A great defensive player, a helluva hustler, and a point guard that isn't going to give you offensive stats.

The difference is this year's team appears to lack playmakers, which they've had in the past. Now Craft is having to help make up for that, but it's not his strength.

I think the anger is misdirected towards Craft.

Spot on. If they didn't have the offense of a Jr high girls team we wouldn't be having this convo.

He needs help for his game to shine....he has minimal.

Yep, that sure solidifies just how spot-on those coaches are.

Now, if they would've said Royce White, I'd be much more inclined to believe their opinion(s).

Lol yeah. That doesn't mean shit. Other than he is overrated if he's the third most coveted player.

Most of them make passes to their teammates that put the teammate in a negative situation. Most of them don't know when to push the ball and when to pull it out.

All the coaching can do is put them in a position to get decent shots. That is hard when the 2 lead guards won't shoot the ball when they open because they have zero confidence.

I don't buy LJ's point that the OSU fan base has been spoiled with scoring. I think it is reasonable for any fan base to expect that their team has the ability to score the ball. Most teams recruit guys who can shoot .
Mainly agree with this. It seems like if there's an opportunity to do something stupid or make a mistake, they do it with shocking regularity. It's either a bunch of passes around the 3-point line with no movement or one guy deciding to take on the entire defense despite no one being in rebounding position.

Offensively, they're comically bad and defensively, they're overrated. Can't defend the paint to save their lives.

Uh, difference was...Muhumad HAD not played a college game yet. He was hype. Craft had two seasons of play. And I guess UK team is overrated this year? Best recruiting class ever!?

Wiggins? Multiple people and articles comparing him to Lebron James. So I guess he is overrated as well? Need I go on?

Good post, Webbie, and pretty much spot on. Some of these other comments bring the lulz, so thank you for that

Wiggins is overrated to the claims of Lebron James. There will not be a Lebron James for a long time. But wiggins is having a very very good season and has picked it up lately and is putting up 27 with ease. He's closer to a Lebron James than craft is to a top 3 coveted college bball player.

Yep, and you're just further proving my point.

Coaches are just naming the most-hyped, most-talented, most-known players. It doesn't mean they are right more than they are wrong.

They were wrong about Shabazz. They were wrong about the LeBron comparisons. They were wrong about many, many others, including guys like the Harrison twins.

So, maybe they are wrong about Aaron Craft?
