Lots of connected Indiana people kept throwing Donovans name around. He was called. He did not call back. It was all smoke.

Now, the NBA season is over, so maybe more inclined to listen...but seems extremely unlikely.

Jent getting an interview. Logical choice would have been to make him interim and after the season, keep him or not.

A friend and I were talking about that last night and that was my stance. Too late in the game to get a legit big-name guy, so put Jent in the "Fickell role" of keeping things on an even keel through this year and then make your move if needed.

In a normal situation this would be the logical thing to do, but I don't think things are on an "even keel"...just sayin'

I've heard Hoiberg and Buzz. Either would be light years better than McDermott, imo.

A gimpy, not able to do anything other than sit Thad Matta is 100% better than this.

Gene obviously had no plan. This wasn't like "firing" Tress. Everyone knew Urban was coming.

Quick Google search didn't really have anything more than speculation in the "Well, it looks like a good fit to me!" sort of wishful thinking. But nothing along the lines of him being in talks or that anything concrete might be happening.
