Indiana will probably win. Because I want them to lose.

I don't know I'd call it false hope. Anyone with any sense of reality should know the only way either team gets into the NCAA tournament is to win their conference tournament. The only impact Saturday's game has is keeping the winner out of Wednesday's opening round of the B1G tournament, so they only have to win 4 more in a row instead of 5.

4 players score 18+ for OSU and they lose

Nice defense. Cannot wait for the NIT first round defeat

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We still have the loss to Buttgers in the B1G tournament to get out of the way first!

So it sounds like Matta is coming back to OSU.

They lose Kam Williams, Trevor Thompson and Marc Loving. Not sure how quickly Wesson will be ready to contribute as a Freshman.

Huge year for Matta. If he doesn't get to the NCAA Tournament next year and these guys like KBD and Lyle don't take steps forward, how can you keep bringing him back?

What's the rotation look like next year? Funderburk and Wesson should help with the loss of Thompson.

Where is Kam Williams going? I know Thompson tested the waters last year, and isn't planning on returning for his senior year, but did I miss something with Williams? I admit, I'm haven't kept up with OSU's roster outlook much this year.

You're right, he's listed as a Senior but I knew he redshirted. He probably comes back, nowhere to go.

Where would Thompson go? Not NBA ready now, IMO.

He declared for the NBA last year and came back. He wouldn't be declaring for the Draft, but would want to get paid to play.

Unless Archie is staying put for another year, OSU is making a huge mistake not going after him.

Gene made a big mistake today by publicly saying Thad would be back next year.

Am I the only one who automatically thinks a coach is gone when the AD has to give them a public vote of confidence?

Wonder if he is rethinking his statement?

That was a pathetic game played by a pathetic team.

Only one senior that is guaranteed to move on (Loving - thank God!)....don't really see them getting much better next year.

Made the same stupid mistakes and undisciplined plays last night as they did in game 1.

Just depressing.

excellent post from the comment section on 11W...

bucked up 9 hours ago9 hours ago If Matta wants to turn this thing around the first thing he needs to do is dismiss Dave Richardson (strength and conditioning coach). Great work habits start in the weight room and carry over to the hardwood. As DeAngelo Russell pointed out, the weight room was frequently empty during his time at OSU, and it's obvious that hasn't changed.
Richardson has been here since 2005 and even during Matta's halcyon days his teams were prone to blowing staggering leads in the second half, an obvious sign of poor conditioning. Jared Sullinger, William Buford and Laquintin Ross were all among the fattest prospects at the NBA scouting combine during their respective drafts. Fat mammaries and large guts are all fine and dandy if these players wanted to spend all day jiggling their man boobs and making silly faces with their guts, but they are not acceptable for aspiring pro basketball players
It's as if the staff is afraid to add muscle and strength to the players. We always have low post big men that can't shoot, yet they spend 3 or 4 years here and never gain any size and strength that will allow them to outmuscle their opponents in the paint and on the boards. Amir Williams, Dallas Lauderdale, Othello Hunter and even Evan Ravanel could have been physically stronger than every big man they went against with the right strength program.
Basketball titles are and always will be won with hustle on the defensive end of the floor and strength on the boards. And the easiest way to excel at both of those is to have a strong S&C plan in place.

Buckeyes did not make the NIT. Time to put this season to bed.
