Yeah...but he wasn't really known for drop-stepping to the hoop, losing the ball on the way up and air balling long without a defender on him.

That wasn't a productive rotation player to a championship team....that was Bill Russell at 5:38 am.

Turned the game on, saw Ginobli fall down a few times, turned it off. I know the Spurs are incredibly successful, but it'd be interesting to see what life is like off the court. What's it take to keep Duncan, Ginobli, and Parker healthy and fresh (besides Pops' benching them in premier games)

Did he flop or trip over his nose?

Perhaps this is an "obvious statement is obvious" but I will never, ever be sold on assembling teams with stars (or once were stars) that are designed to win now. Prime example: The Brooklyn Nets. The NBA season is overwhelmingly long, but it does take time for players to mesh and learn to play together. How many decent seasons were they expecting out of Pierce and Garnett, who looks like he's 63 years old out there.

I don't think anyone was sold on the Nets besides BigAppleBuckeye.

Yeah, that's an even worse version of when Laker fans were all super-stoked because they got Gary Payton and Karl Malone. There's no guarantee even when you're talking current stars or high-level players, as it took two years for LeBron and gang to win a championship. When you're dealing with guys who WERE very good, but are towards the end of their career, I'm not really sure what a logical season for that would be, but would guess it'd be a far bit lower than the logical season for a team with younger good players who've been together for a longer period of time.

I thought they'd be a solid team. 46-48 wins. That was before they signed Jason Kidd.

I don't think anyone really thought they were a title contender, though.

A lot of the experts predicted them for a 4-5 seed, which isn't necessarily saying much since the east is garbage this year. Lol at 13-17 Boston is currently the eight seed.
But when you go out and sign guys that are probably past their prime, it reminds me of just throwing stuff at the wall hoping something will stick.

The Nets were supposed to be built around Deron Williams and Brook Lopez, Pierce and KG were just complimentary veterans who had big time experience. DWill was hurt at the beginning of the year and Lopez is out for the year so that went out the window.

Right, the team now and later belongs to those two. But they went out and acquired Garnett, Pierce, Kirilenko, Terry, (Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace last year) -- all of whom were stars or at the minimum major contributors to their teams once upon a team with the hopes that they could mesh and win now. A healthy Williams and Lopez is a great combo, but they're still relying on getting some consistent production out of 4-5 old, past their prime veterans for 85-95 games. I'm not sold it can be done, yet.

In my opinion, a team led by Deron Williams will never get it done. He isn't a good leader at all.

Not sure it's the necessary type of leading and not NBA....but he lead Illinois to NCAA Championship game and was pretty much the sole reason they came back against Zona in that tourney being down 15 with 5 min left....hit a late 3 to tie it for OT then hit a huge one in OT.

But do agree he doesn't seem like the NBA team leader for a champion

Not sure Philly needs to draft a back court player with Wroten, Carter-Williams, Turner and Young. They need to get Noel 100% and maybe draft a PF who can score. Randle would be a great pick at this point...

There are rumors of a Blake Griffin for Melo trade in the works. I'm not buying it, but you never know.

I guess I wouldn't be surprised. Considering it's Donald Sterling as their owner, they've already had a majorly surprising run of competence the past couple years, so the organization has to feel it's past time to be the old, reliably horrible Clippers again.

Andrew Bynum has been waived by #Bulls. Free to sign with any team upon clearing waivers.

He will end up on a good team. Shit like this is pretty much why the NBA sucks now.
