In what is a terrible day in Hoosierland, Freshman Guard Maurice Creek is done for the year with a fractured knee.

Creek was averaging 17.6 ppg this season, good for 3rd best in the Big Ten and tops in the nation for freshman. He was well on his way to FOY in the B10 and had an outside chance at First Team All Big-Ten as well as All-American Freshman Team.

His season was highlughted by a 31 point effort versus Kentucky.
Creek was shooting 53% from the field including 45% from 3 pt range and 76% from the FT line. God Damn this BLOWS!!!

By the way. Indiana won the game tonight 90-42 to move to 6-6 on the year. Never have I EVER felt so bad after a 48 point victory.

I do think John Wall leads the nation in scoring for a Freshman. However, Creek is a serious player. Good thing for IU is that he should be able to recover enough for what should be a nice run NEXT year.

You're right. Creek was ahead of Wall before his last game of 9 and then of course this game where he was injured.

It's a shame. Indiana is slowly but surely working their way back to respectability. Next year should provide a number of exciting moments for the Hoosier faithful. Hopefully, Maurice will experience a total recovery from this unfortunate accident and will lead the team to a winning season next year.

I saw a picture of this injury and wow. Nasty. Looked like his knee cap was split in half and you could see it underneath the skin. Just horrible.

I hate to see stuff like this, especially when it happens to a storied program who is trying to regain itself.

After unintentionally seeing Ronald Roland's disgusting injury last week, I will take your word for it.

Hope Creek can come back strong next year and help IU towards getting back to the upper tier of the Big 10.

You hate to see that. Hopefully he is able to recover nicely for next season.

I feel bad for the kid, but that is a classic picture.

Yeah, I love that picture. The zoomed in shot of the actual knee would have made me do much worse than what Jones (12) and Elston (32) are doing.

Wow is Michigan terrible. Indiana beats them 71-65 without Creek.

Bad loss for Michigan. But IU is going to be VERY tough at home, regardless of who they are playing even without Creek.
