My 85 year old home will be getting new windows (16 total) this Friday we got some newer outside doors last year.</SPAN>
I checker the furnace (burners, motor and ignition) general cleaning</SPAN>
I cleaned both chimneys</SPAN>
Checked all the vehicles (tires, oil, trans, antifreeze, battery) will replace plugs this weekend
Need to get a few hundred pound salt for my truck </SPAN>
Splitting more wood from a down tree last week .. should be good for all winter</SPAN>
Checked our back up food, water and propane supplies in case of a power outage</SPAN>
Thinking of replacing the small gas powered generator with a stronger diesel next year.
Have the garden almost done for plastic covering
Patio furniture still out
Rain barrels need to be drained and removed
Lower spouting cleaned, upper has leaf covers
Have you home owner and or car owner done any winterizing yet? </SPAN>

Something to think about, if you have natural gas forget the diesel generator and go with one that runs on natural gas. As for everything else that you listed....I was a Boy Scout and have it covered.

Had Whempy's out to clean the fireplace last Friday.
I still need to put the glass back in the front storm door and put the screen away.
I have the sandbags for the truck sitting in the garage. I don't like putting them in till I tag out on deer.
Kale looks to be far enough along that it will survive winter, so we will have fresh greens all winter.

Winter is for poor people.
Somebody was going to say it, so there it is.

Not yet:
Soon the convertible will be stored for the winter and the SUV will be in action.
Need to convert the tractor from mower to snowblower.
Blow the leaves out of grandpa and grandma's eves.

Got my brakes on my Trailblazer done yesterday. Need to get my 4WD fixed ASAP.
The house I am moving into next month has brand new windows and doors and the furnace is ship shape, so it's good to go.

Back in Perrysburg we had a generator connected to the natural gas line but water got into the gas line system in the Blizzard of 1976 and everyone line froze at the meters. The generator was worthless. That the only reason I when with a secondary fuel generator.redrocket;1519351 wrote:Something to think about, if you have natural gas forget the diesel generator and go with one that runs on natural gas. I store my butternut, acorn and spaghetti squash in large Rubbermaid containers filled with sawdust in our garage storage area (small room within the garage). Do you store any squash? How?

I'll re-stock the corn crib this weekend and boil down some molasses. The SO still needs to make more candles.
