I hope Willingham can pull himself away from the golf course long enough to evaluate teams

If not, I hope they replace him with Charlie Weis so the committee will have a decided schematic advantage over the basketball selection committee.

My question is, why are there current employees of certain schools on the committee? I mean sure, everyone has their allegiances, but why people directly employed by a school?

To be fair, don't they do the same with the NCAA March Madness Selection Committee?

They do, and they leave the room when their school is being discussed.

And my biggest takeaway is Ohio State could be fucked if they are borderline.

Both her and the LT. Gen dude are kind of headscratchers of the "okay, they both excelled in their given fields...but what the fuck does this have to do with being on ANY sort of football related committee?" sort of thing.

HTF is Willingham on this committee? Is it because he's the same color as the POTUS?

They do, but there's also a lot less of an incentive to include your school or even a school in your conference. It's still important to be objective, but that's also 68 teams vs 4 teams, and while the prize for WINNING IT in basketball is huge, the prize for just making it in this Final Four is monumental.

I like how a former Secretary of State (and Browns fan - kudos) could not possibly be qualified for the playoff selection committee.

this just reeks of sexism, racism, and complete disillusionment of OC members. The norm

given her overall qualifications......why couldn't she know anything about cfb? She's not biased (i.e. Barry Alvarez or Jeff Long) and given her intelligence would be able to make a quality opinion. What is there to discredit? This seems like a win-win situation

I vote we replace Condoleezza Rice with Holly Mangold!

Now that's a woman we can all get behind.

She's a huge Stanford fan. I don't have a problem with her being on the committee but I wish they would have included more former players instead of has been politicians.

She also almost became the Stanford AD.

I don't really have a problem with any of them. All I care about is that they actually watch the games and do their job.
