No, this is not the onion.
http://reason.com/blog/2013/10/10/when-postage-stamps-are-too-dangerous-foThe stamps in question depicted children performing a cannonball dive, skateboarding without kneepads, and doing a headstand without a helmet.

A handstand without a helmet. Handstand. Helmet.

Very accurate they used a black person for the "shoot hoops - leaping" stamp which shows a basketball player.

Granted, they should have destroyed the entire run of stamps because they are really friggin' stupid. Or, I guess, never approved them and wasted the money in the first place. But to destroy them for the reasons given is absolutely asinine.

And why are they allowing someone to climb a rope unsupervised? People can fall off those things, you know?justincredible;1516052 wrote:WHY ISN'T THE BASEBALL PLAYER WEARING A HELMET?!?!?!

Every child should be in full body armor. Always. Because safety.Heretic;1516055 wrote:And why are they allowing someone to climb a rope unsupervised? People can fall off those things, you know?

Soccer player isn't wearing shin guards.
Toss juggle should be wearing safety goggles. He's gonna poke an eye out.

Especially the one on the swing. Leaning back like that...man, that has to raise the odds of falling backwards off the thing and being in traction forever and ever. No prom for you, future cripple girl!justincredible;1516056 wrote:Every child should be in full body armor. Always. Because safety.

The cartwheel is pretty irresponsible. What if her wrist snapped?

This was the most reckless set of stamps I've ever seen.

The person stretching is going to fall off of that rock. They'll probably get a bruise in the process.

That isn't a pool but a puddle in the cannonball stamp. They're going to be horribly mangled by the impact.

I thought maybe this thread would be about toxic glue (eventhough most stamps are self-adhesive now).

That would be a rational fear and worthy of destroying a run of stamps. This, not so much.gut;1516082 wrote:I thought maybe this thread would be about toxic glue (eventhough most stamps are self-adhesive now).

"...raised safety concerns among sports figures on the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition"
I'm going out on a limb and guessing the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition is probably not an essential govt function.
