Did anyone have a treehouse growing up or have a friend that did?

You see them all the time in movies but I never had one or knew anyone that did.

Also, these:

No but only because I had so many trees to climb I never wanted one. Growing up on a farm with acres of trees was cool.

We built our own in the woods. We would take scrapped lumber from housing developments.

Yeah, my grandma has 126 acres, mostly wooded. I spent a lot of time in the trees, but never had an actual tree house.

As a kid we would always build tree house or caves. Steal a few 4x8 plywood some 2x4 and rope or chain and find a tree. When I think back it was pretty cool to think that 3 kids could build something up in a tree and get that 4x8 sheet of plywood up into the tree.

If I was to build something in a remote area a tree house would be what I would build...

We didn't have a treehouse, but we did have a "playhouse" that was on my grandma's property. It looked similar to this, but a little bigger:

It was on a hill overlooking her pond, and the porch wrapped all the way around. There were four sets of bunk beds inside and all of the grandkids would sleep out there a lot during the summer.

Built them all the time. Had one with slingshot "cannons" all along the rails to ward off attacks from mauraders

We used pallets for our flooring (stolen from nearby construction sites).

Hey Belly, looks like hanging around BRF has already had an effect on you with your spelling! Ha ha!

Ditto that ............we probably built at least 6; some were pretty major. Then we'd have BB gun fights ......without goggles and helmets ---- shock !!

Treehouses are for poor people. How much time do you spend thinking about tree houses? Seems like you should use that time being a better family man or on your career.

The kid a couple doors down had one and it was fun. We took a ladder to get up into it and climbed down a sheet ties to the tree to get down. Thinking back I'm not sure how the sheet worked because I never remember it being changed

So you're uncle gave you present for helping him build it?
