Welp, it's a day early, but time to get this started. Winner of the series gets home field in the wildcard game. Homer takes the mound against AJ Burnett. Going to need a real strong performance from Homer based on the way the offense has struggled as of late.

I'm hoping dusty goes with whatever lineup he plans on using in the post season this series. It will probably suck but he needs to figure it out.

What? It's Dusty. Let me save you the worry.

1. Choo CF
2. Phillips 2B
3. Votto 1B
4. Ludwick LF
5. Bruce RF
6. Frazier 3B
7. Cozart SS
8. Hanigan gets Homer, Bronson, Cueto....Meso might get a Latos

This is the vs lefty lineup

Vs righties he might go crazy and bat Bruce 4th and Luddy 5th

Ludwick is giving this team nothing right now. I would rather him be in the 6 or 7 spot.

Huge game tonight, as the loser has to sweep the weekend games if they want to be the home team on Tuesday.

Hope things work out the same way they did when these two faced each other last Saturday.

Reds win 1-0 in 17 innings. Ludwick enters the 17th 0-9 with 8 strike outs and hits a walk off to win it. Dusty then continues to hit Ludwick 4th during the playoffs and calls him a clutch veteran for the rest of his life.

Let me guess. It's Bryan Morris who loses the game for us, right? But still gets put into high leverage situations for the rest of the series and playoff game(s).

Well alright then.
For those interested. Which is me and perhaps 1-2 others. Here is the Pirate line-up.

Marte LF
Walker 2B
Cutch CF
Morneau 1B
Byrd RF
Alvarez 3B
Martin C
Barmes SS
Burnett P

I do have to admit that Ludwick at 2 might not have been what I was expecting.

Makes some sense considering he's hit like dog shit in the 4 and 5 spots.

Now he hits another on an 0-2 pitch. Obviously intentional. Mccutcheon is literally crying in the hole just watching.

Byrd hits a sharp bases loaded grounder that could have been a double play, but it found the hole to LF to give Pitt the lead, 2-0. Then the DP comes on the next hitter to get out of the inning with just 2.

I have zero hope for this team. If they play at home Tuesday I would be there but I know there's no way they'll take 2 of 3 to do it. And Ryan Ludwick can GFH. Thank goodness for football.

Pirates are just a better team. They made the moves to get better and the Reds did nothing.

I'm shocked to see this team score 1 run in the most important game they've played this season. Figured they'd score 0. Grats guys!

Both today and last Friday, Reds face 3 run deficit when they bat in the 9th. Last week Votto leads off with an out and the Reds win, while tonight he leads off with a single and the Reds lose. Last week Ludwick batted after him and started the rally with a single. Today BP follows with a game killing DP.

Great news. The offense looks so fucking bad right now, it's bound to get better in the playoffs...

Here's a question. Since it's basically clinched that Pitt and Cincy are playing each other Tuesday with the winner playing either the Cards or Braves, which of those two would you rather see if it's your team winning the Wild Card game.

For me, I think it's Atlanta. I wouldn't care if the Pirates got swept in the NLCS by 14-0 scores each game if they beat down the Braves and got some measure of revenge for 1991 and 1992. And for the 19-inning Jerry Meals debacle of 2011. I'm extremely bitter like that and will take any opportunity to drop them in a high profile situation and the quicker the better, as far as I'm concerned.

I would much rather play the Braves because the Reds would lose to either team and I really don't feel like losing to the dbag cards.
