The Blue Jackets traded Chimera to Washington for defenseman Milan Jurcina and winger Chris Clark.

does this move make them better? At least Chimera looked like he was playing hard every night... can't be said for every guy on that team

Constantly offsides is right. Seems like he can only skate fast which is good until you cross the blue line twenty feet ahead of Umberger or Torres. I like Jurcina I think he can be good for the CBJ.

...and was high-strung beyond belief. It was like watching a middle schooler out there: "He hit me legally, so I'm going to run him from behind and then scream about it".

This deal makes more sense for the Jackets from the leadership angle. Clark has been Washington's captain the past 4 seasons, and is a good locker room presence as well as a steadying influence on the bench. I wouldn't put him higher than 3rd line, but he's one of the kinds of guys one would want on a team full of youngsters. Jurcina is a decent veteran defenseman who is one of those players you don't really notice (which on defense is usually a good thing).

Chimera fits the grit role that Washington is lacking with the exception of Ovechkin, so maybe Ovie won't feel as though he has to make as many of the big hits, since someone else on that team will finally hit (and take stupid penalties for it).

Clark and Jurcina will fit in Hitchs' system. Clark brings the veteran leadership aspect as well.

When Ovechkin goes to hit someone he is reckless and always charges before a hit.
