Brewers beat Cardinals 6-4.

2 back. We need Washington to sweep the Cards and the Reds to sweep the Mets.

They have the Cubs over the weekend, at home, and I don't see them choking a series away there when the division is on the line.

In this series we're facing Aaron Harang and Daisuke Matsuzaka.

Against the Pirates, the Reds scored runs in every 1st inning. Scoring first in NY will be very important. Unfortunately the Reds allowed Pitt back in the lead in the first 2 games, but in the key 1st game they mounted a very improbable and fortunate rally to take the game and set-up things for the eventual series win. The MTW games this week will define what the Reds need to do over the weekend to have the first postseason game at home, if a 3 way tie is possible, and if a div chmp playoff game is a possibility.

Different format from yesterday. Shouldn't it be Mets @ Reds...Game 1?

Superstition.

Well yesterday was @ Pittsburgh and today is at Cincy. When Cincy is home I put Cincy vs.

I'm 23-15 starting threads. I've got this.

So..the one game playoff is next monday night?

Tell you what..this little part time job I picked up 4 years ago hasnt interferred with a whole lot, but it has fucked up my watching of the reds in the postseason. I didnt get to watch, or listen, or follow online, and didnt know for days/weeks after the outcome of the last two postseason appearances, and it looks like it may intefere again this monday night. At least I didnt have to go through the agony of those series though.

but anways..usually would say 2 of 3 is good, but they just need to keep pace with what the Pirates do. At this point I am not sure it matters if they play in pittsburgh or Cincy. Seems like they fold at home in the biggest of games.

Harang was trying to walk Bruce, but he swings 3-0 and ends the inning. Those are the types of little things that this team does that just makes you wonder.

Whenever Bruce gets the 3-0 hit sign, he is way too anxious and swings at pitches he should even swing at on a 1-0 count! Consequently, the Reds break their 5 game streak of scoring in the first inning.

I don't trust any Reds player on 3-0....not even Votto or Choo.

I don't trust Bruce, Luddy or Phillips at all.

Ludwick has had two great pitches to hit, one in each AB, and he spoiled both, and made outs both times, this time with the bags loaded. Nevertheless the Reds get the first lead of the game and are up 2-0.

Frazier puts cueto in the soup with a 2B error on the pitcher leading off, and then adds to it by not getting off the mound well allowing a bunt to be a hit, but ends up only allowing a run to preserve a one run lead for the Reds.

Ludwick has left 19 runners on in 3 AB

I wish Hamilton was ready to contribute but 2016 will be here soon enough.

Its a shame the Reds let Harang get out of that game after 6 innings with a tie game at 2-2.
