I think Votto gets off tonite.
I would say on SUnday against Kershaw but ya know they want him to play in front of America on SNF.

I don't think Dusty will do it. He's needed a day off every couple weeks for 3 months....why would Dusty bother now?
3 for his last 34? Hitting about .180 the past 5 weeks.

Why now? Because I think this may be his worst slump that he has had.Ironman92;1496334 wrote:I don't think Dusty will do it. He's needed a day off every couple weeks for 3 months....why would Dusty bother now?

and he is getting that very frustrated look. Would be best if maybe next Wednesday so he could get two days off in a row with the off day, but can they wait that long?

Dusty will not sit Votto against the Dodgers especially.
I think he'll only sit him if their placing is pretty much a done deal. I believe there is some boneheaded thought to play him in all 162 games.
No one on here thinks he needs a day or so off more than I do....but Dusty skanked Cozart into that 2 spot for 63 games out of 82 and told the reporters it was about half and half, then gets info of how ridiculously far off his thoughts were then all of a sudden he in the 7 hole and doing very well ever since
So I guess if we keep on it enough Dusty will figure out how stupid he is at certain things....but unlikely.

Textbook Todd with his perfect swing.

This was the most no-doubter HR of the night.....silly how he can do that with hideous balance and his hand coming off the bat at impact.

How many times is this now with Votto and Bruce back to back? This is getting weird.

Only the Reds can get 4 hits and 5 baserunners, yet manage to make it only a 1-run inning. This pitcher was serving it up on a tee in the 4th inning...

Bronson Arroyo said, regarding his contract situation heading into the offseason:
“If I stay healthy and keep doing what I’ve done, I’m probably going to make $13 million-plus.”
“I think twice I’ve signed a bit under value – once in Boston and the last time here. The middle time – when I signed here – it was what I was worth. With my age and the numbers that I put up the last few years – for guy who is not a No.1 starter and isn’t thought about as one of the big dogs in the game – put my numbers against the best in the league and they’re pretty good.
Not an Arroyo fan. He's not nearly worth a deal in that range. However, you have to appreciate a guy who really says his opinion, regardless of the time or situation of the season.

Joey Votto turns another inning that looked like it was blown by a double play into a 2 run affair to give the Reds the 3-2 lead. Can Leake and the defense keep it?

I hope so, but that's 8 runners in the last 2 innings. It should be 4-2 or 5-2.

Reds now facing the good pitchers as they have 3 straight Ks in the 6th. Even more pressure on Leake, the defense, and now Dusty as to how he implements the bull-pen.

PH Young bloops in a single to keep Leake from making 8 complete.
