how many scholarships do D1 Ohio schools get to use on both the men's and women's side? Is it different if they have track? Is it 3 full rides at any one point? So, you could have 3 runners on full rides, and nobody else could be on scholarship until they graduate? I also understand coaches can break those scholarships down to half rides and quarter rides.

I found out that for D1 they can give 12.69 scholarhips for men xc/tf and 18 for women. However, my question is do Ohio colleges usually use all of their scholarships and how many scholarships do universities without track give out?

Good questions, Give. Wish I could give an answer. All I know is that any kind of FULL running scholarship is pretty hard to come by. I would like to think that funds for full scholarships would be more readily available since we place so much emphasis on producing great Olympians and a great way to do that is through our DI college system.

My sister was a state champion and didn't garner a full-ride scholarship. Another sister would
have also been a state champion in that year, but took fourth in hers while qualifying in two events.
Bottom line is, unless you're on your way to the Olympics, put your nose in a schoolbook.
