I'm 5-8 this season on threads....would have been 2-8 if not for an early season sweep of the Cubs.

I gave up on every having Votto/Bruce hitting 3/4 in the lineup. God Forbid having lefties back to back. Probably close to what the lineup should be, but maybe Mez catching and hitting after frazier. I kinda like having a faster guy in the 8 hole because you know the pitcher isn't going to do much and there is a good chance when the LO guy gets on there is two outs and you usually send the runner with 2 gone. Will see how it goes. Not a do or die type of game in the sense we always think, but it is to a point do or die mentally for this team.

I think the Reds will actually play with fire tonight....the Cards will be a bit cocky/off focus and Homer will get a fair zone and pitch well.

Reds 5
Cards 3

Pretty much where I'm at with this team. You know as soon as they get behind, the game is over. They have no fire or sense of urgency. They are in dire need of leadership.

What makes you say Homer will get a fair zone? Do you have a "book" on the HP umpire for tonight, or other reasons for saying that?

BP goes off on C. Trent Rosecrans. Douche move by Phillips, imo.

I haven't seen this yet...but since you're siding with C Trent...I'm going to go ahead and side with Phillips.

Looks like this team came out with a little bit of fire.

But is it bad that I still don't feel comfortable with a 5 run lead in the first?

They'll score AT MOST 1 more run this game. Hopefully Homer can have an average outing.

Cards take 2 of 3....HP ump was ridiculous 1st game....most borderline calls went their way yesterday....you can't be too obvious!

I'd like to thank C. Trent Rosecrans for getting BP all fired up.

Who knew that to get him fired up and hitting a little better was to just bring up his OBP.

Yeah I was wrong.

Bruce hits that 3 run HR in a blowout either way, but never in a close game where it would make a difference. That's why the Reds suck. Horrible timely hitting.

Guys with new spots in the order are 5/6 with 6 RBI! Once the Reds loaded the bases in the first, very good ABs by Bruce, Ludwick, and Frazier to make it a very successful inning at 4-0. Then the add on runs on the wild pitch and the great 10 pitch AB by Homer. Then the game really goes sour for the Cards on the Bruce HR to make it 9-0. And Homer is handling the prosperity fine so far with no one reaching base thru 2 with 23 pitches. Reds lead the series in total runs now at 16-14.

As opposed to Leake Monday night, Homer handles that potential DP starting throw to 2nd perfectly, but like Leake he is fortunate to end up getting one out on the play.

I'm going to laugh when we end up scoring like 15 runs and Dusty never uses this lineup again.
