Seven? Are they playing 6 games and combining the scores?

Interesting to hear Brantley say there is something going on internally. Not just playing poorly.

Guess it was more speculation then his saying it IS Something:
@LanceMcAlister: "This is more than a spilled drink on the carpet, you have to wonder if there's a bigger issue going on right now,"Jeff Brantley, WLW. #Reds

but they were talking about how great the chemistry was at the beginning of this roadie after the ASG and how they were coming together. Wonder what is going on internally. WLW mentioned this AM that yahoo reported the reds contacted the SFG about Pence...

We wont get him. Pitts and cards both want an outfielder too and have much better pieces. We have basically nothing to offer to anyone for a good player.

They have great pasts but Bumgarner is their only starter with under a 4.60 ERA

1 starter in the top 40 in the NL ERA race.

But they aren't gonna just let those guys go or give up on them. They are just having a rough year.

Chad Gaudin?
Barry Zito?
Lincecum is working towards being untrustable way too often.

Bumgarner is a Latos-like stud. Matt Cain, while having a poor year is still a guy to trust....after that Homer I would imagine would be more useful.

Homer is 5-10 and has never had a great year. Lincecum has a cy young and zito is a huge reason they won it all last year.

You're way over valuing homer.

Only Cain and Bumgarner will be in their rotation next year...

I can see them signing someone like Phil Hughes and another veteran to replace Zito. They still have Ryan Vogelsong at 6.5M if they want to keep him.

Doesn't Lincecum have 2 Cy Youngs? Regardless Zito is just not any good and Lincecum is on his way down. My thoughts of Homer are pretty tight with yours.

Chapman for Pence?

Although, I don't know how I'd feel about having the crazy homeless guy in a Reds uniform.

I wouldn't mind having Pence on the team. This team is emotionless, and having someone that goes out and plays hard every single game isn't going to hurt anything.

Also, Choo starting in LF tonight, and D-Rob in center. Still don't know why Cozart is batting ahead of Mesoraco though.
1. D. Robinson, CF E. Cabrera, SS
2. S. Choo, LF A. Amarista, CF
3. J. Votto, 1B C. Quentin, LF
4. B. Phillips, 2B Y. Alonso, 1B
5. J. Bruce, RF W. Venable, RF
6. T. Frazier, 3B J. Gyorko, 2B
7. Z. Cozart, SS L. Forsythe, 3B
8. D. Mesoraco, C N. Hundley, C
9. M. Latos, P E. Volquez, P

Honestly the team needs to deal Chapman for a bat. I love Chapman but he's in the one spot we have depth at (closer) and the only piece that could get the kinda bat the reds need. I wouldn't do this trade though if they still they think Chapman could be turned into an effective starter

Chapman will never be a starter. He don't want to do it, so you can't expect it to be forced upon him.

Still don't think Robinson is worth a damn..but hopefully he can bring some energy to this team.
