I've been talking about a potential split since the realignment process has begun to consolidate the better teams in the top conferences (leaving the Big East as the odd man out it seems). They are getting the schools that can pull in the money and get certain geographic ratings and then they could split if they end up deciding it is in their best interest.Con_Alma;1478055 wrote:http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-football/news/20130722/big-12-bob-bowlsby-ncaa/?sct=uk_t11_a4

This seems a reasonable solution and could happen rather quickly. There's no incentive for the big guys not to do it. They could still schedule the lower tier schools if they wanted to because those schools will do whatever is needed for the paycheck.
