I don't do quite as many road trips anymore. Gas prices don't help.
When I was driving 75 miles one way to work I got to take many different back roads, just taking in the sights on the way home while trying to unwind. Usually I'd just drive slow, be like the farmers and watch the crops grow. Pretty much same way every day to work but road trip it home.
Never used GPS. Got a suction cup compass at Autozone which worked good enough on cloudy days, although I did end up at Indian Lake instead of Bellefontaine once...

Do you enjoy just going for a drive, maybe trying to get a little lost? Any memorable road trips from the OC members?

I couple long non-stop drives for myself. First was Urbana to the Florida state line non-stop in college for spring break. Almost crashed in downtown Atlanta when I dozed off.
Also drove from Phoenix, Arizona to slightly West of Terre Haute, Indiana non-stop. Really wanted to make it back to Ohio from Az. non-stop but didn't make it. Was moving back after living in Phoenix for a year and was really ready to gtfo of the desert.

Drove from El Paso, Texas to Coshocton, Ohio non-stop when I was 19. Took off at midnight, drove across the west Texas desert by myself, and got home in 27 hours stopping only for fuel and a burger. Slept for 14 hours after that! ;)

This summer I drove from Clarksville, TN to State College, PA non-stop. Dropped off my girls to my "wife" and then turned around to drive back. 23 hours round trip. Pretty good for a guy in his mid-50's eh? Actually pretty stupid but......

Driving 11.5 hours from Clarksville to Wilmington, NC at the end of August. Need some ocean time!

Once a month I drive from Indy back to Washington Court House, pick up my sister then head back. I just don't mind driving. Driven to Florida twice, Atlantic City, Myrtle Beach, Ann Arbor a million times.. if it wasn't for gas I probably wouldn't stop at all.

Too bad you've never been wanted by other employees.

I often drive random places on weekends just to see new things.
