But, but, but, he was innocent.

GFY Braun.

What a fraud he is. That piece of shit gets away with it the first time on a technicality and then just kept on juicing all the while trying to pretend he was clean.

I feel bad for Brewer fans that they are stuck with this guy for God knows how many years well into the future with no way to get rid of him.

He comes out the big winner though. His reputation is total trash at this point, but he's got a 9 figure bank account that's not going anywhere. It does pay to cheat.

Well he isn't getting any richer this year, suspended without pay. But your point remains.

This is going to cost him $4 million dollars for the rest of the year from what they are saying on TV.

Look at his salaries going forward that are untouched and unaffected. These teams need to figure out a way to keep better track of their players and who they are associated with and what is going in their bodies before they hand out these massive extensions. For a mid market team like Milwaukee this is just devastating.
2013 $8,500,000
2014 $10,000,000
2015 $12,000,000
2016 $19,000,000
2017 $19,000,000
2018 $19,000,000
2019 $18,000,000
2020 $16,000,000

I actually think this was the same juicing as before not something he kept doing. They just have better evidence that he doped this time

Atleast he has the balls to basically admit to wrong doings in it all. Didnt appeal either. So I actually applaud him for that. We haven't heard the other suspensions yet bc they are probably appealing. Could definitely impact some playoff races

He only did that because the MLBPA said they won't defend anyone who has strong evidence against them. Basically, they are telling players to take the best deal. For Braun, this is obviously the best way to go. Lose out on a year without a chance at the postseason...He isn't manning up, he's just taking the best way to go for him.

And this is how every Players Association should operate. I never understood why it was "good" for the players for the PA's to vehemently contest PED investigations. If I were a professional athlete and not using anything I wouldn't want the cheaters being protected.

Yeah, I was watching MLB Network and they were basically saying he is trying to beat the press about the whole thing. The rest of the guys might not have as string of evidence, and they will appeal. Also that the names are at least 10 days from being released, so with appeal, it might go into next year with the suspensions. Brains "deal" appears to be come clean now and only lose this year.

Brian Kenny kind of laid into him.

Baseball was going to really bring the hammer down on him in particular because he did fail that first test 2 years ago but got off on the chain of custody technicality.

Everyone involved knew he was guilty, and that is part of why he went all Lance Armstrong and went after the test taker and so forth to try and make it seem like he might be clean.

From the reports it sounds like they had iron clad evidence this time that he couldn't weezle out of like he did the last time, so he took the deal.

If I was his teammate and I had stood behind him at that press conference where he was boasting about being proven innocent I would want to beat his ass for making me look like a chump.

He basically did what Raphy did when he waived his finger at Congress about never using, and then testing dirty shortly after. Only Braun has years of torment to put up with while Raphy retired very soon there after. Couldn't have happened to a better guy.

Now that we have this revalation is there anyone buying Arod's new quad injury?

Buster Olney said they had a few solid pages on Braun, and "books" worth of evidence on Arod. The shit storm is coming his way soon.

The only good thing to come of Braun taking the deal is it legitimizes the sources/evidence MLB has because he didn't even try and fight it like he did last time. If Arod's plan was to paint this guy as a slime-ball, he better come up with a plan B quick.

i don't get the "go on the offensive" defense of these steroid users. they know they are juicing and can't hide it forever. coming off as a steroid user is one thing (e.g. giambi) but coming off as a liar as well as a user is a terrible look (e.g. clemens, armstrong, braun)

Hard to say. Baseball didn't really catch these guys so much as the guys running that clinic were retards and it got out. Clearly their testing isn't picking up the new designer stuff.

On the bright side this at least sends a message they are being aggressive, and the legal strategy to get the info out of this guy was a brilliant way to do this as usually they get stone-wallled during these kinds of investigations.

Braun should do the right thing if he is serious about cleaning up his reputation and voluntarily send Matt Kemp the MVP trophy he should have won in 2011.

Both....it's good that they got a big named player and it's bad that one of the younger big named faces of baseball is a cheater.

He'll come back next year with a very good season.....but every award/honor is pretty much toast.

Kemp's been broken down ever since.....who's to say he didn't cheat?

My guess, most AAAA players juice, but I'd say at this point, not a large % of MLB players are.

Never heard the term AAAA?

It refers to the guys who dominate triple A but can't cut it in the bigs. The difference in money, to me, makes it a no brainer to cheat and try to get to the bigs and stay.
