I think regardless a man should try to grab them, or put their hands out so they can't hit your body. I can't think of a reason to ever hit a woman.
I was surprised though when I was telling my wife what happened and her response. She said fuck that, if I think I'm tough enough to hit a man bigger then me,then I'm big enough to accept that he might not like it and react.

actually that might not be far off...her unit is a piece of work. They are TRUE computer nerds. I'll see a guy in uniform and say something like...man look at that geek...never fails when she says, yea he's one of my guys. If he slapped this woman - regardless of what she did - he has no place on the team. He's a 225 pound (or whatever weight) physical speciman.

Serious question- is it just because she's a woman? What if he would've hit a 150# guy..he still would've outweighed the guy by 75#, so would he be under the same scrutiny? I'm not defending the fact that if he hit her, he needs to be dealt with harshly. Really surprised at some of you trying to justify him hitting her (if he did). Absolutely no reason to hit a woman unless its in an extreme scenario. I've had a few ex girlfriends slap me and all I could do is laugh at how pathetic it was.

Yes, it is because she's a woman. That is a basic tenant of civilized society - never hit a woman. If he'd slapped a 150 pound guy, I'd have to know the circumstances before I made a judgement. For example, if the guy had attacked him as he (Hyde) was walking down the street, maybe I'd see it as justified. If it occurred at 2AM in a bar, maybe I'd look at it similarly to this case. I just cannot find any excuse for slapping a woman in a bar. Maybe it's unfair that a woman can hit first and then not be struck back. But life isn't fair. If the Buckeyes believe their giant wall sign about respecting woman, this can't stand. It makes no difference if this woman is the biggest B in the history of mankind.
