IF he actually took money for signing memorabilia, he's the biggest moron in college sports. The kid's family has millions of dollars and he may have risked his eligibility for this?

Having $$$ doesn't equate to being smart, and nobody has ever accused the Manziel's of being smart

Pryor wasnt the heisman winner and biggest star in college football. Manzeil alone is the reason a&m is doing (I think) a 60 mil renovation to their stadium.

There is always another star. If it isn't Manziel making money for the NCAA, it will be someone else. I think they are more interested in showing power. Now, I do think with all the money his family has, this may be hard to prove.

According to articles about the renovation, yes basically. Donors came running after last season. And last season definitely doesn't happen without him. There is an article that talked about what he was worth to texas a&m but I can't find it

Manziel may be the biggest name in college football, but A&M is not on the level of some of the recent programs they have successfully punished severely (Alabama, Ohio State, and USC). Not to mention, since this is, at the very least, a player issue, the NCAA was willing to suspend high profile athletes for less than what is alleged here (e.g. AJ Green, Dez Bryant, Ohio State Tattoo players, etc.).

If they suspend him. I bet its not until after that Bama game.

:laugh:The NCAA does not care one bit, you go against their rules and it's your head. Their ego supersedes their greed and that's saying something

A&M would have to vacate any victories that he played in, doubt they risk that.

Listen, there has been some violations either minor or major with all the events and activities Manziel has had this summer. The risk potential and odds are just too high when you go to those places with celebrities etc.

Just another article from ESPN regarding this latest Manziel topic of cash for autographed memorabilia.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9539990/broker-says-johnny-manziel-friend-halted-free-autograph-signings

I thought one of the more intriguing lines in the article was:
Nate Fitch --Johnny Manziel's friend and personal assistant

I wonder if Manziel drives around campus in a golf cart as well.

Edit:

Tried to post an image of Ryan Reynolds and Kal Penn in a golf cart but none of them are working, not sure why.

If the NCAA doesn't suspend this punk and slap aTm with a bowl ban this is the biggest hypocrisy ever in college sports.

How much is a Ty Detmer autograph worth these days? That will be the value of Johhny's in 25 years.

A&M will handle things the SEC way. When the investigators show up, they'll drop some perjury on them and tell 'em to get their bitch asses back to Indiana. Historically, a better strategy than tOSU's serial confessions.

If he confesses (assuming he did receive $) he'll get a few game suspension. If he lies and says he didn't, then NCAA will bring down the Ban Hammer. Just like OSU. Still believe if Tressel tells truth from get go, he's still OSU's coach today and Pryor and company only receive a few game suspension. Just my OP!

Possible, but if lying and denying works for giant bags of cash changing hands (Auburn), I like it working for some tats and pocket money.

My 2 cents: Manziel is a dbag, but the NCAA is a bunch of fucking Nazis.

Manziel's family is OIL rich, why in the hell is he selling autographs? Kid thinks he's bigger than the system... ala Mo Clarrett
