Couple of years ago it looked like green muck floating around and the smell was atrocious.

I'm okay with blaming Toledo and Detroit in addition to Cleveland.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1467276 wrote:

That one summer it was horrible. I remember one time going to eat at Pizza Hut. We opened the door and wow it was almost unbearable. We parked as close as we could and ran in. Nasty, Nasty stuff.
Have to wonder if he gets hot and stagnant this year what will happen. They didnt do the alum treatment as it didnt solve anything. Not sure of those aerator things will do that much good.

yeah, its not too bad right now. The extra rain has helped. Did fish over the weekend, with no luck, and did notice when I was reeling in the lure you could see a trail in the greenness of the water.vdubb96;1467482 wrote:We ate on the lake about a month ago and it looked alright. The true test will be when it starts to dry up, get real hot and stagnant.

I've never really considered sand dumped along a lakefront to be a true beach.

I used to go up to East Harbor near marblehead every year growing up. Went there last year for the first time in about 7 or 8 years and it was in pretty bad shape all around. Beach was bad, you could go out forever and the water up to your knees.
Baypoint area in Marblehead seems to have a pretty nice beach still.
