In all seriousness, the Reds are -195 in this game. That is a CRAZY line for a baseball game AGAINST the defending champions, coming off being no-hit and trounced the night before in a game that only went 6, but had a near 3-hour rain delay.

I know it's heresy as a Reds' fan, but I'm tempted to hedge my bets and take the Giants. For some reason, the Reds haven't fared well against Barry Zito in a long time...

Hopefully Heisey can an least hit into a double play to get the run in after the successful hit by Frazier with Bruce running on the pitch.

SF will do, after nearly hitting a HR, and being in the hole with two strikes.

Meso with two breaks that AB - the ball call on strike 3 and the fielding of Sandoval.

Great play by Sandoval there to get Choo and end the threat.

Cingrani lost focus and walked Blanco on four pitches to lead off the 3rd.

Cingrani throws five straight pitches in the zone to Posey, and the ump gives him a walk.

Shyster Phillips gets a cheap double play to end the inning, snookering Posey! I wonder how audible the umps call was?

I wonder if Posey would have made his fateful try for 2B if the ball wouldn't have gotten so far away from BP. BP with a "golden brain" play, and Cozart was on the ball to tag Posey!

2nd base ump called infield fly making the batter out. Posey and Blanco exercised their right to try to advance at their on peril, and Posey got tagged out for the 3rd out. Now if Blanco would have gone and Posey hung tight, it would have been a bad play.

Its bad for the Reds for Zito's pitch count to be high. He's only allowed one run -- they need more. They've gotten no runs so far this series against the SF bull-pen.

Meso and Cingrani over achieved in their good efforts to clear the pitchers spot and use a lot of Zito's pitches up to make one last run at 82 pitch Zito in the 5th by leading off with Choo to try to get some runs on the board, that Meso decided to give away an out to be sure that Choo led off the 5th! LOL

Pirates take lead on homer, flip it back, reds lose lead on homer.

No golden brain play to bail out Cingrani from his 2nd loss of focus resulting in a 2nd walk of Blanco, followed by a 2 run homer, the first runs of the series, which give the Giants their first lead.

Can Zito get thru the 5th and put himself in line for the win?

That HR by Abreu almost cleared the Kroger strikeout signs.

2-1 Giants

How the Reds only have 1 run is unfortunate. Zito throwing cream puffs. Mesoraco and Heisey are destroying the ball but both of Heisey's were caught. Phillips needs to HR

Choo bailed himself out by drifting into the throwing lane and getting a SB. Can't do that going into 1B, but nothing illegal about that, a very astute baseball play. And Zito doesn't make it thru the 5th after the following Cozart hit.
