The whole point of Obamacare was to break the insurance market and usher in single payer.

Liberals believe that the tens of billions of dollars spent on insurance industry middle men each year is waste that should be directly funneled to healthcare providers.

By breaking the market, you can eliminate the 3rd party insurer who provides no real value that they think government couldn't replicate.

They also kind of backed the administration into a corner. If a few months from now this continues to be a debacle and Obama wants to delay then it will vindicate Cruz and the Repubs.

Seems like they may have opened that door today, but they aren't incorrect in a wait-and-see approach to fixing the exchanges. And due to the point above, I imagine they will pour a ton of resources into fixing it. But that still isn't going to make people sign-up for expensive plans.

This. And not to mention the majority of people signing up are ones that have a pre-existing condition who will likely burn through any amount they pay in insurance through medical bills. They need at least 30 million sign ups to get anywhere close to paying for the disaster; they will be lucky to get 7 million in a year ..............oh, and that doesn't count all the tens of billions they robbed from other programs in the form of payment/reimb cuts.
