The Detroit Free Press is reporting that a 41-year-old man from Columbus, Ohio, ripped off part of his penis while he was high on mushrooms early Monday in Ypsilanti Township.

Washtenaw County sheriff deputies responded to a burglary alarm at Ypsilanti Middle School, 105 N. Mansfield St., to find a broken window and the man, who was naked, screaming and bloody from the waist down, according to the report. He was reportedly close to death and was transported to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital for treatment.
