West Branch beat Salem 81-0 earlier in the week. It was the highest scoring match I'd ever seen, anyone seen more points?

When I was at West, we beat East and Brookhaven 84-0 in the same year.

Instead of pinning you should have teched them all. Seeing as it's more embarrassing than a pin, especially if you can do it in he first or early in the second period.

I was on the recieving end of this as a coach. We were a first year team, with mostly first year wrestlers at a new high school. I could only fill about 9 weight classes as well, and wrestled a dual against two established programs. The only bonus was that our travel time was minimized. It was a truly ugly moment in sports. :(

That sucks, but you really can't blame the other team right? (Not implying you are, I've just seen parents do this sometimes when teams get beaten badly they act like the winning team is all jerks)

Funny, I made a post asking the same question at Yappi.

St Paris Graham just beat Rootstown 82-0 at the Canfield holiday duals.

Varsity sports are designed for the best athletes in your school to showcase their talent. You can't ask a varsity athlete to "bag" a match to the point of embarrassing the opponent by going through the motions out on the mat rather than winning the match and moving on. If your team has no varsity caliber athletes or you have six unfilled weight classes and you get skunked 84-0. you probably deserve it. There are unsportsmanlike 84-0 matches and very sportsmanlike 84-0 matches. Some coaches might use a mixture of JV and varsity athletes against a weak opponent to give their second and third guys valuable experience but whoever coach sends out there should have the right to win the match anyway he can and by whatever score he can. Intramurals and varsity are two very different animals.
