Nah. Closest to thrift stores I ever got was Gabriel Bros. for my landscaping clothes back in the day. They had cheap Carhardts and cheap-ish Caterpillar steel-toed boots.

Just bought some sheets. I needed old sheet to hang up on my ez up to block the sun at bonnaroo this weekend. Afterwards they will be thrown away.

You still get what you pay for. Cheap new is probably better than decent old because clothing, especially cheaper clothing, has a shorter shelf life.
I've given some really nice clothes and some good furniture to Goodwill/Salvation army...I think they actually might have a slightly higher-end store? Otherwise I'm sure there is some good stuff, but getting your hands on is probably a challenge (I assume some savvy employees might have a nice side business grabbing the value even before it hits the floor).

That could be, I only go there for work clothes that could last a day or a year depending on what I am doing. Love thrift stores. I have gotten many Cleveland sports shirts there, and it's the best place to find stuff for Halloween and ugly sweater parties.

So do I. One reasonably close to me has all clothes half-off on Wednesdays, too. That's cool, especially considering that with all the weight I've lost (HUMBLE BRAG ALERT!), I've had to basically buy all new clothes for work and for casual wear. Every couple months, I go and buy some stuff. I love going to thrift shops to find classic D.A.R.E. shirts. I found a vintage neon edition awhile back.
I don't frequent them as much as I did while in college, but as others have noted already, there are an excess of great vintage tees to be had at such stores.

Located in Chicago, by far the coolest salvation army in the world. A multi story old factory.
Thinking about going through it years ago reminds me of the show American Pickers.
My brother found a really cool vintage all leather golf bag for like $5 bucks. Cleaned up great and only has one broken zipper.

Will not say what I go in thrift stores for, but will say this.....found what I was looking for (actually what I collect, trade and sell), bought it for $7.50............sold it a week later for $375.00.....amazing rich people have f'g clue what something is worth when they give stuff to the poor people stores .........
