$4.15 a gallon up here in Traverse City:thumbdown: All I've got to say is this is some serious bullshit. I don't like when it hovers close to $4, but come on it's $4.29 in suburban Detroit, Chicago may see prices hit $5. Total rip man

What happened when OPEC told the USA to fuck off? Car owners in the United States were restricted to specific days on which they could purchase gasoline: even dates for cars with even-numbered license plates, and odd dates for cars with odd-numbered license plates.

Hopefully this "energy boom" of fracking shale nonsense is legit and some day America can tell OPEC to go to hell.

We'd have to do a lot more than open our reserves.

This has nothing to do with oil. 2 major refineries in the Midwest region are running at very reduced capacity. The other regions Dont have enough surplus to ship over to lower our prices a ton. The gas gets cheaper as you go south and east due to the supply regions mixing

Clearly, the only appropriate response now is to blame Obama for being in league with his oil cronies.

Refining is the choke point.
It's a good thing they closed so many of them this year. We lost a good bit of capacity nation wide.

The fact we export as much gas as we do probably doesn't help either.

Anything to keep the margin razor thin between actual supply and demand so that at least once or twice a year they can have a nice financial bonanza when "maintenance" issues all seem to happen at once.
