I was wanting to do a marketing test based on different elements of what is perceived to be the ideal lifestyle, but it got me thinking.
If there were no limitations or consequences, what would your perfect average day look like?
When I say limitations, I mean things like financial limitations, geographical limitations, physical limitations, or restrictive relationships.
When I say consequences, I mean things that could get you into trouble. I'm speaking mostly about legal or relational ramifications here. What I don't mean by this would be destructive effects (ie, if you wanted to chop off your arm, it would still hurt like a sonofabitch). So, while it might be tempting for some (read: Heretic
) to say that their ideal average day involves waking up, drinking a liter of vodka, racing their own personal Formula 1 car followed by a cocaine binge with a truck-load of hookers. That would pretty much kill you.
Hence the emphasis on "average" in the question, referring specifically to things you wouldn't die from or get sick of.
These are the questions I came across as relevant.
1. Where would you live?
2. What would your house look like?
3. What time would you wake up?
4. What would you do in the morning? Think about? Say? With whom would you interact?
5. What would you eat for breakfast?
6. What does the mundane stuff look like (ex. taking kids to school, etc.)?
7. Where would you spend the first half of your day?
8. What would you have for lunch? Who would you eat with?
9. What would your friends be like?
10. What would you talk about with friends?
11. What would you do for personal fulfillment?
12. What life purpose would you strive toward?
13. What would your job/business be?
14. What would you do at that job/business?
15. What time would you start that work?
16. What are your clients/customers like?
17. What are your family relationships like?
18. What would you do for family time?
19. What would you eat for dinner? Where would you eat it? With whom?
20. What would you do at night, where, and with whom?
21. What would your thoughts be as you went to sleep?
Obviously, if you don't want to answer them all, that's cool. If it's a tl;dr thing, that's fine too. I was just wanting to get some feedback.
I'll rep any serious feedback.

Wake up around 8 am, watch a little TV, eat some breakfast, check all the online stuff. Then head out to the garage and do some wrenching for a few hours on whatever project I was doing. Spend the rest of the afternoon being lazy until my son and wife returned home. Chill on the back deck with some beers, eating dinner. Then spend the rest of the evening with some quality family time, doing something of their choosing.

I am doing my ideal stuff right now. I coach college soccer.
Not in my ideal location, but I don't mind it. I don't really care where I am, I just want to be doing what I want to do. I wouldn't mind making a bit more money, but it's not all about money. I have a wife that I love and she loves me. We are buying a house, finally -- got a good deal on it, 3 bed and 2 bath, 2,000ish square foot. I'd like to drop a few more pounds that I dropped and put on last year.
I'd like to be closer to family and friends. But, we'll get there. This is a step in the right direction. We'll spend several years here and build the resumes and finances before we get there again. It's fun. We also get to see more of the country here. Looking forward to getting farther west.

If I could, I'd live somewhere like Arizona. I would like to wake up around 7. Have a cup of coffee and spend some time with the wife before I hit the golf course. I'd play 18 holes in the morning, take a short break for lunch, and then play 18 in the afternoon. Afterwards, I'd head home to my house to cook out and sit on the back deck and enjoy a few beers with my wife. Go to bed, only to wake up and do it all over again the next day.

If a perfect world I'd live in a small secluded cabin, surrounded by plants. Living on or near snow bowl peak in Flagstaff, Arizona while attending NAU.

Live in temperate climate (Western N. Carolina, Virginia) about 20 minutes from a metro area where I could play golf in the morning, be an American History Professor to hot young co-eds in the early afternoons, workout before dinner. Since no legal ramifications exist, at night, I'd help a struggling co-ed earn her grade.

That sounds good too except I'd chose Tempe since Arizona State has the best looking coeds. Not many fat chicks in the desert and if you find one they moved there from the Midwest.Sonofanump;1454564 wrote:Live in temperate climate (Western N. For the word "ideal" to come into play, work can't be involved, so my ideal average day would be a weekend or day off for any reason. Could divide it into two categories: lazy day (ie: not going anywhere, such as today) and the sort where I hang out with friends.
Lazy day: wake up whenever, lounge about for a while (eat breakfast, surf the net, listen to music), get cleaned up, hit the couch to play games while toking up and watching whatever sports are on tv (if none, then fuck the tv). Eventually, after dinner, work out for a couple hours then unwind and go to bed.
Hanging with friends: Probably about the same except after dinner, grab beers and head over to their place for the night. Or before dinner if they're ready for some good old-fashioned day-drinking. Both work for me!

9. They would all be good people just like the ones I have now.
10. Weather, hows the families, and fishing tales.
11. fishing, arrow head hunting, shooting, and just hanging in my garage
12. Try to help my family with all their needs
13. I would probably do what I do now. Electrician, hvacr, and plumber.

16. good down to home kinda people that pays their bills on time and I never have to worry about getting paid after doing the work.

1. Where would you live? Somewhere rural. No neighbors within a mile.
2. What would your house look like? Something like this.

3. What time would you wake up? 6:00am
4. What would you do in the morning? Think about? Say? With whom would you interact? Coffee on the porch/deck with the wife and dogs. It's none of your business what we would talk about.
5. What would you eat for breakfast? Eggs, bacon, fruit.
6. What does the mundane stuff look like (ex. taking kids to school, etc.)? Tending to the farm. Taking care of the animals (cattle, hogs, sheep, goats, chickens, and ducks). Lots of gardening.
7. Where would you spend the first half of your day? In the garden and fields/barns.
8. What would you have for lunch? Who would you eat with? A delicious bounty from the garden. Mofo.
9. What would your friends be like? Simple country folk.
10. What would you talk about with friends? Country things.
11. What would you do for personal fulfillment? Essentially live off the land.
12. What life purpose would you strive toward? Opting out of "the system" as much as possible.
13. What would your job/business be? Selling meat/produce at farmers markets.
14. What would you do at that job/business? Farm.
15. What time would you start that work? Early.
16. What are your clients/customers like? People that need meat/produce.
17. What are your family relationships like? Same as now, great.
18. What would you do for family time? Family things.
19. What would you eat for dinner? Where would you eat it? With whom? A delicious bounty from the garden and some sort of meat.
20. What would you do at night, where, and with whom? None of your business.
21. What would your thoughts be as you went to sleep? Can't wait to do it all again tomorrow.
