Was really hoping for a split with Detroit, but going in I think we all knew it was a longshot with those match-ups and Swisher being out. Positive is the bats stayed hot and roughed up Verlander (again).

Now we continue the incredibly tough stretch with a trip to Fenway. Luckily for us, the match-ups are in our favor for this series and I am really hoping for a 2/3 win.

Game one is tonight at 7:10.

Go Tribe!

Also, 4 game series. But I still like the matchups in 3/4 games. Zmac and mr clean today and tomorrow are pretty important though with kazmir and kluber Lang in the last 2.

I never knew a professional sport had a paternity leave policy. What a joke.

Francona should have brought a bucket of fried chicken to his pre-game presser.

it's been around for a couple of years now and I agree with your comment about it.

Tribe broke out to a 4-0 lead but Sox struck for 3 in bottom of 3rd. Papi launched a 3 run homer into orbit. Could have been worse, Bourn threw out Ellsbury at the dish earlier in the inning.

Tribe now up 6-3 with bases loaded and no outs in top of 6. Chance to break her wide open.

Changed it over to see the score after seeing this and indeed they did break it wide open. 12-3 now, still in the 6th(with 2 outs).

EDIT: I guess I didn't refresh the page ICLfan. Nice updates.

Who will be the position player to pitch for the BoSox?

Tribe with 4 300 hitters in the lineup. When's the last time that happened? Still mad at Tito for giving up last night in the fifth inning.

Scott Barnes with three innings of scoreless relief.

David Huff has been DFA'd.

Tonite he pitched 1 inning and gave up 3 runs...SMH. Huff has had a lot of opportunities to prove he's a big leaguer. IMO, I'd be looking to move him or just outright DFA him and let him go. As far as I am concerned, he just pitched himself out of the organization.
Your wish has been granted.

Look at the bright side, that poor outing helped us in the long run as Huff is no longer with the Big League club!!!

I am not arguing that, I just think it is dumb they are forced to miss out the next game. I believe the Tribe FO giving swisher a baby swisher jersey as a gift was part of the reason why Swisher was sold on signing in Cleveland.

I think they do that so that you can bring up a player to replace them on the roster but not have it count against their big league time/options (like a September call-up). But I could be completely wrong on that lol. They could easily just let Swisher go see his kid and play with 24 players.

You are correct. It is called the Paternity List. Player can be on it for 1 to 3 days.

I take no joy in seeing that, but there comes a point that a prospect no longer is a prospect, and Huff has gone beyond that point.

You expect pitcher to develop along a typical path....flashes of brilliance, punctuated by time of inconsistency....with the former becoming more prevalent over the latter over a few years, until the guy has established himself as a bona fide major leaguer. Justin Masterson and Zac McCallister have followed that path....Cory Kluber is developing along those lines, but still a year or so behind those two.
David Huff has been trying to make the jump from triple A since before Zac and Cory....and to be honest, he has made little advancement. Waiting in the wings are other young pitchers...Carrasco, Bauer...time to move Huff out of the way. I suspect he may be retained at Columbus if / when he clears waivers at least until they have adequate arms to stock that team. But David's final grades are in.:(
