With his current success with the Reds, what is the % chance the Reds spend the money to keep him on the roster after this season?

I would LOVE for them to do it but it's very unrealistic.

I saw something on Twitter earlier about it being more about the years than the money. I think the Reds get it done.

It would be awesome if they could but what would you do with Hamilton since his project is to be a CF? Choo in LF probably wouldn't be the greatest idea either since he's played very little there as well.

From what I've heard and read, Hamilton is a long way away defensively. I'm not sure.

And possibly a ways away offensively, since the last I heard, he wasn't getting on base at Louisville. All the speed in the world won't help you if you can't swing a bat at a competent (at least) level. Better to have a proven quality commodity than hoping Billy can hit at/above the Stubbs level in the near future.

Yea, I think he's further away offensively than he is defensively. However, unlike Stubbs, Hamilton has shown the ability to hit. Also, he's pretty new to switch hitting, which has probably set him back some. I think he's probably at least 2 years away.

On the surface, I'd say no chance.

Then again, the Reds have proven people wrong time and time again when it comes to spending money since Jocketty and new ownership arrived.

I could see it happening. But I think it will all depend on attendance. Ill say 61% chance they DO resign him.

People's heads will explode when they see the comps that Boras will use in his contract demands.

He will have execs think Choo is the 2nd coming of Mickey Mantle by the time he puts his free agency binder together.

All it takes is one stupid GM, and I suspect he is going to be looking for Jayson Werth type money as his comp.

Do the Reds have any young guys coming off their rookie contracts in the next 2-3 years that will need huge extensions? That could go a long way in determining how far they extend themselves in trying to keep Choo.

I believe Bailey is the only one that falls under that.

Core guys are pretty well locked up. Latos, Cueto, and Bailey are due up around '15 I believe.

Have seen him twice this year live. Once in C-Bus, once in Louisville. He's got the range and speed, but his arm and reaction in the OF leaves a lot to be desired, from what I've seen.

Don't like to hear that about the arm, that's usually something you have or you don't.

He'll get the big pay day, and do something stupid and Korean Media will hurt his feelz, and then the return of QQaChoo will happen. Book it.
