Anyone been here before. What are some good places to visit or stay. Any other advice. I'm going to be booking our honeymoon here at an all enclusive resort soon.

My first advice would be to not go to Riveria Maya. I imagine it probably looks something like this:



Where you want to go is Riviera Maya. That's in Mexico.

We were going to go there a few years ago, but decided on Cabo San Lucas instead. I imagine any RIU hotel or resort would be nice, if they have one in that location. I've stayed at the RIU in Aruba and Cabo, and they were both really nice.

Been there twice absolutely loved it! Recently had our wedding there stayed both times at Aventura Spa Palace. However that resort just changed to a Hard Rock resort so I can't tell you how it is now.

All-inclusive resorts are amazing. I haven't been to Riviera Maya, but I've been to Punta Cana at an all-inclusive, adult-only resort. If this is your honeymoon, go all out and treat yourself to the best you can afford. The experience will be phenomenal.

We're thinking The Grand Princess in Riveria Maya probably 2 weeks in the Laguna Suites anyone been there

Not the best time to go to Mexico. Which is a shame, it has some of the world's most beautiful beaches. Mexico is underrated when it's safe. When drug cartels are kidnapping and killing innocent people...it's very overrated.

This was going on while we were there a few years ago and we didn't run in to any trouble. We went to an all-inclusive in Riviera Maya and it was awesome. I can't remember the name but I can ask my wife later today.

For a honeymoon check out a Sandals location; we did Jamaica. For a "regular" vacation we have done the Grand Paladium in Riveria Maya twice and had a great time both times.

We stayed at an all-inclusive in Riviera Maya for our honeymoon. I would highly recommend it. Make sure you go to an adult's only resort.

We never had worries about safety. Although, we stayed at the resort every day except the one day that we booked a tour to Chichen Itza.

I've gone twice in the past three years. If you're going to an all-inclusive resort, the whole trip is a controlled event. From the airport to a shuttle/bus/limo, to the resort which is gated. Any side trips such as going to Chichen-Itza or to taking the ferry to Cozumel is the same sort of planning.

My above post linked Dreams, which was only a year old the first time I went to that specific resort. Dreams also has resorts in various other locations such as Tulum. I believe there are three Dreams along the Riviera Maya. However the Dreams that I stayed at was only a year old the first time I went there and was absolutely beautiful. It was lush and exotic, without the contemporary starkness that you see in some of the other resorts. I'm thinking it's around 4 years old now. At any rate, the seven restaurants at that particular resort were outstanding and offered a variety of cultural foods, the staff was impeccable and the resort as a whole was ultra-clean.
I recommend taking any outing to Chichen-Itza. Not only is it fascinating but you'll also be stopping by a cenote (go for the high jump )
