New Orleans cops are hunting for three suspects in a shooting spree Sunday that left at least a dozen injured at a Mother's Day parade.
Nine of the victims were taken to the city’s University Hospital, with three or four requiring surgery, New Orleans police said. At least three of those shot were in critical condition, CBS affiliate WWL-TV reported.
The youngest victim, a 10-year-old girl, suffered a graze wound, according to NOLA.com. Another person was injured in a fall during the commotion and was taken to the hospital.
The website said there were about 200 people gathered at the intersection of Frenchmen and Villere streets in the 7th Ward — a neighborhood ravaged by Hurricane Katrina — when the shots rang out around 2 p.m.
At least three people are suspected in the shooting, said NOPD Superintendent Ronald Serpas.
One of the suspects is described as a male between 18 and 22 with short hair, a white shirt and bluejeans, NOLA.com reported.

I'm genuinely afraid of getting on the train in Chicago now a days.

As you should be - Chicago is violent as fuck. Had a class last semester with a guy who had to bury his nephew after he was shot and killed during a home invasion there.

This is probably gang and/or drug related unlike other recent events

The whole thing is just getting out of hand. Although violence and murders are down significantly from the 80's and 90's, but it does seem to be ticking back up (we can probably blame that on the economy).

It only seems like it is ticking back up because the media reports any and all crime where a gun is used, part of their liberal agenda. Gun crime has been steadily falling for years.

Black on black crime does not get the attention of the news because it's a daily occurrence. If this were a white guy doing the shooting the President would be calling for the banning of all weapons.
