As long as the Shockers go unbeaten, KU fans should actually prefer a two seed IMO. Obviously, S&L and the rest of them would welcome running the table and getting a one, but if the Jayhawks obtain a two seed, they'll likely be viewed as the best number two in the eyes of the committee and Wichita the weakest number one (assuming the committee does in fact take that into consideration; I can never remember). Based on geography, KU is likely going to Indianapolis (unless Michigan State ends up as a two somehow edges them out) and since Syracuse would go east, Arizona west and Florida south, Wichita is also going to Indy.

If KU and Wichita were able to meet up in the Elite Eight, with the Wiggins brothers story as well as the state of Kansas angle, that would just be a tremendous lead up to the game. And we all know that storylines play into the Selection Committee's decisions. Duke and Kentucky don't just end up in the same regional as often as they do by chance..

ESPN said that it's the first time Pitt has lost to a top five team at home. The arena was built around 2002 or so I believe (not really sure), so Dixon has at least won a big game since then.

He is what he is at Pitt. Like Mike Brey at Notre Dame, he's coaching at a school that thinks they are important in football, so having some Top 25 years every once in awhile and an overall basketball product that routinely makes the NCAA Tournament is good enough to coach there until he dies. Exciting times for Panther hoops fanatics.

I'd add him to my Coaches That Need Fired list, but I feel like that's half the coaches in Division I based on my posts. The one that really, really does perplex me is JTIII. Yes, his father has a pretty storied history with the program in the capacity that he built it (lol), but enough is enough. Georgetown is a top ten all-time program, like Duke a prestigious academic institution, and possesses great resources/facilities (getting to play several home games a year in an NBA arena and the active presence around the program of Hoyas greats like Patrick Ewing, Dikembe Mutumbo and Alonzo Mourning are nice perks and recruiting tools).

The horse has died, I know.

Bad home loss for Oklahoma. Terrible home loss for Indiana. Worst home loss of the season, arguably, for UMass.

UMass quickly falling from Joey Brackets' favor. After starting the season 16-1, the Minutemen have lost 4 of 7. UMass has a great RPI (#12) going for them, but currently sits in sixth place in the Atlantic 10 at 6-4 and their remaining schedule looks like this: @George Washington (19-5), VCU (20-5), Rhode Island (not a great record, but very competitive), @Dayton (17-8), @Duquesne and #12 Saint Louis (22-2). The murderer's row of the A-10.

UMass better regroup and fast or they will fall to a double digit seed or worse.

Tom Crean is the worst coach in the B1G, I'm convinced of it. How he managed to lose tonight, and yes, it was 99% his fault, was unbelievable.

The rim should've been a technical. The ref gave some weird explanation for the fans...not sure if was bs or a legit rule lll

Yeah I had the game on but it was on mute. Is that not a rule or something? I always thought if the fans disrupt the game, it's a technical.

If ever a player deserved a technical for hanging on the rim it was Jahii Carson. One of his teammates realized what he was doing and pulled him down.I would hate to see a team lose a game like that, but that was blatant and needed to be called.

I'm not sure that Arizona is a top 2 seed.

The 4 that aren't Ohio State are a combined 42-3 in conference play.

Agreed on the Carson rim-hanging situation. That was a technical. Plain and simple. I've seen that called at least three or four times this season already for much less obvious offenses (i.e. players who were clearly just making sure the space beneath them was clear before landing). Like Laley alluded to, though, by turning the other way and pretending it never happened the officials made it clear that they were frightened to death to make the call. Unfortunate for Arizona that they couldn't assemble the courage to do their damn jobs. It was a cowardly act.

Especially since it wouldn't have mattered. I mean, Arizona could've hit a 3 to win after the technical. But odds are they were gonna miss (like they did). Correct call could've been made without the outcome ACTUALLY being effected.

Had the tech been called and Arizona converted on both free throws, where would the ball have been in-bounded? Mid-court? While I agree that it would've taken some luck for Arizona to pull it all off and walk away with a win at the end of the second overtime, the officials definitely should've made the call so the Wildcats could have had the chance.

In light of Carson's unnecessary showboating -- when simply dribbling out the clock would've sealed the deal -- it would've been GREAT had he lost the game for his team.

Under the basket. A technical no longer means ball and possession (unless you have it, obviously). Because of that change a few years ago, it also means it is no longer an "officials" break. So it's just a stoppage of play like a timeout and the ball is inbounded wherever it would've been

Or would have been great to see another overtime. For my fantasy team's purposes. Lol

NC State just turned the ball over and gave up a fast break layup with 6 seconds left to lose. Unbelievable. Syracuse should probably have at least 3-4 losses at this point.

Like many here, I have never really felt comfortable grouping Syracuse in with that Arizona (pre-Ashley injury), Florida and possibly Kansas tier. The performance by the Orange tonight and in several other close games this season against subpar opponents at home only reinforces that for me (in addition to Jim Boeheim's post-season history). Syracuse will not have the benefit of their friendly confines in the NCAAs to help bail them out either on the court or emotionally.

As in 2012 when they barely escaped 16-seeded UNC-Asheville in their opening game, Syracuse looks more and more at risk for a "historic upset" in the first round.
