My wife and I are under a lease with a man from the area. Quite frankly, I don't have much patience for the man, but he's typically a nuisance at worst.
I just got an Email from him stating that he did not receive the rent check for the month of December. To ensure that he isn't given a bad check, he requires payment via a cashier's check. Our bank records prove that we indeed had one made out.
Will the bank be able to verify for us that he indeed received and/or deposited it? If, somehow, it got lost in the mail, is there a way to prevent it from being cashed by a third-party finder? If there is no record of him receiving it, are we liable, even though we already paid for one already?
