Neat, a nice reflection.

I still think his greatest accomplishment was his aid and support of Africa.

I'm sure a lot.
What's your point? It was bad?
Hell, it led to a worldwide decrease in AIDS and HIV and increased development in the economies in Africa.

The point is he didn't donate anything. He volunteered other people's money. It doesn't take a saint to do that. In fact, it takes the opposite.

Show me where he sent his own personal money to Africa, since that is what we were talking about.

His tax records were released when he was POTUS - he usually gave a few hundred thousand to charity. Among those were African charities - don't know how much or what he's donated after then.

You lose once again, when he was running for POTUS and was POTUS his tax records were opened for many years. He was VERY generous in his charitable donations. He typically donated 15-20% of his income to charities.

^^^

Also bear in mind that is only (i) his and Mrs. Bush personal returns and (ii) what was reported.

For political reasons there is a possibility they donated more but didn't wish to report it as to keep their income tax rate at an "acceptable" level. Also being a wealthy family they also may make donations through family trusts, which probably wouldn't be reported.

That's great, and he should have been generous since his family made their fortune off the back of taxpayers. Regardless, the point was that ptown said his greatest accomplishment was aid for Africa, where he sent billions of taxpayer dollars. That isn't an accomplishment for him. It is an accomplishment for us, even though we did it against our will.

^^The hell it wasn't. It was a distinct policy shift that he drove thru, is widely accredited with saving millions of lives, and improved American standing throughout the sub Saharan region. Before he took office there were barely six democracies in the region...when he left nearly 20.
I realize haters are gonna hate....but sometimes it's best to let it go when you don't know WTF you are talking about.

...that support continues today. He and his wife are personally moved and have a desire to make an impact in the horrendous situation over there.

How many times has he and his wife went since leaving office? Are you aware of what they have personallydonated and personally done while there?

LOL what has Obama done with our tax money? Oh that's right, gave it to the low income blacks/mexicans that need iphones while neglecting their 5 illegitimate children.

Hey be easy. We're talking "W" here. Just the mere mention of GWB's name blocks most sensibilities, fairness, and common-sense in those who cannot find it within them to give the man credit where it's due.

The same thing Bush did. Pocket some of it. Give some to his banker friends. And use the rest to kill people.
