Yes, lets celebrate a holiday created by a guy who murdered his girlfriend, stuffed her in a box and fled the country. Taco Bell wrappers are going out my window during lunch today.

His point is still legitimate. Earth Day - what exactly does this celebrate? Not polluting/littering? Okay, does that require a holiday? It's a "Hallmark Holiday" made up out of thin air. Most reasonable people are in favor of not unnecessarily dirtying up the planet. But if people want electricity, steel, food, etc. there is going to be some mess made. It's the price we pay. Personally, I'll take Mother Earth over all the steel mills and oil fields and diesel engines we can throw at her. If she decides she doesn't want us here any longer, we're done.
