Now that he has gotten way behind Tiger seems poised to start a charge once he makes that putt on 6. We have seen this song and dance from him at the Masters in the past.
I was a few holes early in that his charge started on the 9th instead of the 6th, but he does this almost every year anymore where he shoots himself out of it and then on the back nine Sunday fires like a 31 to finish about 2-3 out.

This year only the shot deficit happened to end up being his penalty for not knowing the rules of golf.

If Tiger makes birdie at 16 instead of the 8 he ended up with he would be -9 right now.

That is going to gnaw at him for a while.

Exactly. If he doesn't hit the flagstick, he makes birdie instead of bogey and the two-stroke penalty never happens. Four shot swing, but nothing that he can do about it now.
